The majority of the customers you are targeting are online, and whenever they need the kind of goods or services you are selling, they will probably use the internet to find a business like yours. However, if they cannot find you easily, they will quickly move to your competitors.
When businesses first started marketing themselves on the internet, things were quite easy. All you needed to do was create a website and some social media profiles for your business, publish some posts every now and then, and you were good to go.
Today, however, things have changed. With almost every other business marketing itself online, simply creating a website and social media profiles won’t cut it. You might be wondering whether I am someone who knows what they are talking about, or whether I am another one of those guys who wake up one morning and decide that they are an expert in some random topic.
My name is Mikkell Khan, a highly experienced and highly accomplished entrepreneur and digital marketer. I went to St. Mary’s College in Trinidad, and then attended Ryerson University in Toronto where I got my certificate in Business Management and Entrepreneurship. From there, I went on to obtain my Bachelor’s Degree in Film Theory and Production from the University of the West Indies. Still eager to widen my capacity, I then went on to the SBCS Global Learning Institute, where I received certificates in Advanced Advertising and Marketing, Negotiations Management, Business Writing, and Information Systems Management.
From there, I went on to gain extensive work experience working with several large companies, which gave me the inspiration to start my own company at the age of 22, which deals with branding and advertising of companies and businesses using new media technologies such as social media advertising, monitoring, and management, among other things. Through my company, I have handled digital marketing campaigns for several large companies, something that has given me unique insights into what it takes to excel in digital marketing.
As the number of active internet users continues increasing, and as more businesses take their operations online, digital marketing will become even more important, and therefore, I decided to write this book to share my knowledge with entrepreneurs and small business owners and help them compete effectively, despite their limited budgets and resources.
