Introduction
A
cross the news, over and over, we are plastered by horrific stories of mass shootings. Our society debates the solutions, politicians make promises about fixing the problem, flags fly at half-mask, we pray together in moments of silence, but yet the shootings continue.
As a collective, we each wonder what we can do individually and together to make these events stop. But then we realize that if the solution was easy, we would have already stopped the carnage.
Nowhere in this short book is a recipe for stopping the violence. Anybody that claims to be able to stop mass shootings with a few tweaks and adjustments is either a complete idiot or is deceiving us on purpose. Of course, as a society we need to address mass shootings but they are a systemic problem with many deep layers of causes and effects.
This book is designed for one thing; Giving you the knowledge and skills to increase your odds of surviving an Active Shooting Event (ASE).
Our basic premise must be:
The information and skills needed to save your own life during an Active Shooting Event must be simple, replicable, and functional.
