Because You Asked Me To. - Tatiana Borgos

    Because You Asked Me To.

    because you asked me to.

    thank you

    Thank you

    When I doubted myself

You held hope in your heart

    When I despised myself

You showcased your love for me

And when I lost vision of who I was

You wiped the mist from the mirror

Thank you for not giving up on me no matter how intense a storm I create

    3, 2, 1

    Three pens

    Two journals

    One dedication to you

I never realized how quickly I could drain a pen

Or fill a page with purpose

    Until I met you.

    5

Five days to speak to you

Five weeks to ask you on a date

Five months to make us official.

I guess you wanted to keep tradition

When you took five years to end us.

    2014

Grandparents are no longer given the hard earned respect they so deeply deserve.

They are shoved into homes because their children are too busy.

Wasted stories of wisdom and simpler times.

Ashamed, I represent my generation in hope that as we grow old, we will be wiser and change our ways before it's too late.

    adjusting

    My mind is empty

    And that scares me.

No longer do my thoughts swim through rivers of confusion and clutter.

No longer do sudden moments of excitement captivate me.

The dark clouds continue to float above me, yet

During times of bliss I am able to laugh a little lighter,

    Smile a little softer,

    And my embraces are true.

I feel myself adjusting to life as I walk through it aimlessly.

I never knew healing would make me feel so awkwardly and uncomfortably free.

    all along

I'm really disappointed in this stranger's lifestyle and perception of everything,

I had a higher expectation of them.

    But I guess all along,

    I knew who I was.

    manuela

She's the most loving girl I've ever met.

Never have I witnessed her being malicious as many people are

Always putting herself second in order to keep the peace and make others happy.

A piercing smile glistens across her face in every waking moment,

But when no one is looking,
