A Gem of a Relationship
A glint in my eyes
So expensive such a gem
You need to impress me
I like what I see
Lasts forever, would never die
Looking so natural, so beautiful to wear
I might go blind if I stare
A gem that never comes fake
Let me cherish this pretty rock
It glares in the sun, such a pretty glint
It may have been expensive but will last long enough
You’ll win me over
I like this more than gold
I know your charm will never grow old
I’ll wear it on and on
For I see you have treasured me
You’ll care about me forever
Let’s leap into this abyss
Take a gamble, now or never
A Simple Plan
A simple plan is what I can stand
For it shall simplify the future for me
Many ambitions I have, do not laugh
Many are feasible, you’ll see
So many complications, many exacerbations
I will have a simple plan that will be
I will simplify my life with no curses or strife
A simple plan comforts me
A simple plan shall come easy to some
But few will think you are an ass
For I will reap rewards of my simple plan and triumph
I remind them all complications shall come to pass
As I mock those who doubted and vented hot gas
A simple plan is a happy plan
Smiles over the rainbow I see
A simple plan is an excellent one
It can work for everyone, as it has worked for me
Adventurous
All around the world I want to go
Where I’m gonna end I really don’t know
I wanna go fast round the sharpest turns
Meeting new people, wanting so much to learn
I go near, I go far
One thing for sure, one day I’ll touch the stars
I indulge in my appeasements
I am happy with no bereavements
All around the world I go
Never stop in one place for long, you always gotta go
Experience everything, have adventures as you go
When you see the whole word, then you’ll know
Am I Crazy?
My thoughts are plenty
I think about so many things
Sometimes I think I’m ready to do something
My thoughts are not steady sometimes
Reading myself, I become disoriented
Thinking negative things
Surely I must be crazy
I might be a mess
Or eccentric, in my thoughts I digress
Then again my thoughts become a steady thing
To contemplate the strange and unseeing
I might be strange, I have no idea
It’s what I have to deal with, it’s a lot
I come back to reality and say to myself
One thing at a time
Look around and see what you’ve sought
An Ode to Cat
Today I see a cat, how about that?
What is she thinking? She’s neat and tidy but not fat
In her head she thinks of delectable seafood dishes
But who will tend to her wishes?
I feed her dry food and moist from the can
Secretly I think that she has a better plan
I wonder what she will do in her little time span?
Does she sleep and dream fantastic things?
Or does she have next day to plan?
She enjoys tasty mouse flavored treats
I watch her eating, she always looks sweet
She has such power over everyone
Where did she come from?
What a beauty she is
She descended from a grand line of cats
My cat is worthy of writing about, and that is a fact
An Ode to a Dilemma
Ah, the best Caribbean trip I have ever had.
It’s hard to leave this vacation.
Then I have to go back to working intensely.
Go back to my stress, I will really weep hard.
Still I have to go back.
I am not looking forward to it; I’ll start crying inside.
Give me money, so I can be free to go back and wander .
to and fro
In my own version of Eden I’ll go back to the Caribbean.
There is more to be seen.
Such conflictions, such complaints,
Can I be in a relaxed state of just being?
Common idiotic pain brought about by modern life.
Such is the pain of trying to work to have money.
Work hard and you might have your wealth and desires,
But you’ll never be allowed to relax.
You have to put up your guard as you go through life;
Hopefully you won’t fall into the cracks.
You’re in dispute all the time while trying to keep yourself
calm. Can you just be a cool person? Is that such
a crime?
The employee begs, please boss, let me have a raise,
I need to go back to my Caribbean daze.
Does anyone actually mind?
Let me be free so I can walk where I want
Into the meadow, and not in the shadow.
Finally, the boss gives in and says all right,
I will help you out tonight;
You obviously need to escape.
The boss helps the employee out and it has made her day.
She goes on her vacation, feeling better and breathing
fresh air. Now she’s really happy;
She doesn’t mind being a little sappy.
No one knows where she went,
No one knows her whereabouts.
She is happy and can now shout.
She returns to work a week later snacking on commercial
chips. Once again she’s happy to work.
She has realized her self-worth.
She has a newfound spunk and perk.
I know there is such an employee vacation dilemma.
But, share your time equally to run a better work place.
Then there will a happier look on your face.
An Ode to the Perishing Environment
Oh, perish the environment. What is there we have left?
Everything seems so futile to protect it, it’s so bereft
So dried out, so emptied
Does anybody care?
Will we choke on our own fumes?
Will acid rain put us in its snare?
Detriment to the earth, a warning so vile
Ignore the evidence, some choke on their bile
The animals and plants die; I seriously want to cry
We have to save the environment; we have to try
We have to live and breathe. No more filthy water or ground
No more skin diseases, contamination, or tragic animal sound
Why is this such an agonizing task?
Let this be simple, we must not be wasteful or spiteful
Ignorance is the theme
Can we all handle it if the earth’s resources are wiped out?
Why does every one live with a false sense of security?
Or will we live in the dreadful heat
Driving our cars, it gets so hot, you stick to the seat
Can the environment change in this life?
I seriously question and have doubt
Hopefully, messages of environmental doom can have some clout
Will there be a clean earth in the future? Maybe in this life
All I hope for is positive, but no one can do this alone
A group effort must occur, and then maybe there will be no strife
We only have one world. Handle it with care
Change it forever, for future generations to be proud
The awareness shall be boundless
Alien
Differences in you or alien species, coming to earth to die
Claim your soul o’ mighty heathen, watch the great escape
Escape your planet, from your own world, live among us apes
Alien so sublime to see the differences we forgot
To live with your species maybe, in harmony or not
Will you see new worlds?
Maybe you’re content
I would know for sure
Shall I call you my friend whom I meant?
Alien, claim your life
Live life better for yourself
Plunge into the unknown
You’re amongst friends; you’re happy in reality
Loneliness will not lament
Meanwhile you could change your skin tone
I welcome you, alien, into my life with much hospitality
You’ll be gladly received
In the end you’ve got a friend
That friend will be there for you indeed
Anecdotes
People say I’m full of wisdom,
I think I’m full of crap,
But they seem to like it anyway.
In my stressful job I deal with people’s problems.
They stress me out like constipation.
They clog me with their problems and give me cramps.
And, yes! I have to dump my own problems in the toilet.
Close your eyes today, let the music play, dance the night
away. Your body will move you any which way.
Anger
Anger is like whiplash.
It cuts like a knife and tastes like bitter salt.
It stems from misunderstand, but really who’s at fault?
Anger is a thing that we must all keep curbed.
It can come out like a demon, out of hell’s vault.
We all live on hatred and not on peace.
We prefer anger that will never cease.
In uncertain times we all rage like the beast.
It can occur anywhere, no matter famine or feast.
Anger can flare and out comes your dark half,
Just keep it in check.
Anger can make you so raw and cold.
Take your soul and die in the anger mold.
Complexities can come with anger.
It can make your life an extreme mess.
Then again, life can give you test after test.
Anonymous Children
To all the little kids of the world, so hyperactive
We have to take care of you and get proactive
We have to care about you and love you and treasure you
Everyone feeds you sedatives and that’s not right
Don’t they wish to watch over?
Can anyone handle it when you put up a fight?
What would happen to you if the pills stopped getting fed?
Would you be an addict?
Would you be dead?
Care for the hyper children; change your attitude
about them
Listen to what they have to say
Don’t admonish their words with dread
Don’t get too bossy now or they will run away
Hold them dearly to you
Listen to the problem
They have so much to say, we should all solve them
Such hyperactive children would rot if they don’t get the
needed attention
Don’t proceed to admonish them for their expression
Guide them along the way
Let them learn to grow up
Then they will say, thanks for raising me
You didn’t give up on me and stop
Anxiety
Anxiety. It’s coming for me. I don’t think I can outrun it.
It is stalking me as far as I can see; what will come of it?
It’s causing me to shake.
Making my body ache.
It’s getting me so very nervous, causing me such stress.
It’s making it hard to breathe.
Constricting my chest; I deplore this anxiety test.
When will it stop?
When will my heart rate drop?
I can’t take this anymore.
Someone please help me feel tranquil inside.
My anxiety will not let me hide.
Help me stop shaking and withering.
Even when I get desperate,
I call for help with this overwhelming mess.
Anxiety teaches its lessons for me to digest.
Anxiety has made me alert, to commit no mistakes.
I know I’ll get everything I want to be fair.
My anxiety is making me work hard to get there.
Appreciation
I appreciate you in every way
I appreciate you all the time
You do so many things for me that are sublime
I appreciate you, as you have something to say
I’ll help you out in every way
I appreciate you saying I do better and better each
passing day
I am grateful and will enjoy the stay
Artist
So many artists, I don’t know who they are.
I have seen many of their works, and some of them are bizarre.
A few of them look tortured.
That is my wild guess.
They are crazy and creative.
Some look rather plaintive.
Everyone creates something beautiful in their unlikely art.
But I suppose in the end it does take a lot of heart.
All art should not be criticized, it yields such interesting things.
If there were no beauty in all the world,
What would happen to us all?
Would we teeter on a downward spiral of dullness and pain?
Or would we go insane not having various things to look at in vain?
The artists are people who are true to themselves.
They create through the mediums of expression.
To be viewed at your emotional regression.
For if we got rid
