Poor Julie
Chapter One
Honey, I’m home! Oh, I forgot, I’m a spinster.
My voice cracks at the irony and I find myself in floods of tears. Soon, I am curled up on the sofa like a cat.
Even though Dave has never been at home when I finish work, knowing that he won’t be coming through the door in the morning hurts. I face a long, lonely night on my own. The magnitude of what I have done is coming into focus. I am a gambler, a dirty, rotten gambler.

Another lie slipped from my mouth.

That is one thing I
