About this ebook

A collection of poetry inspired by the Holy Spirit. Whether you are new on your journey with Christ; youve experienced His love and care for years, or today you are considering receiving the gift of salvation, it is my hope that Poetry 2 Ponder will be a blessing.

The term vessel is likened to a tug boat for me. Prompted to step out of my comfort zone, to see God at work, has been an incredible journey. Beginning with a few poems; I began seeking God for additional inspiration. He spoke to my heart and revealed He has His own bestseller comprised of truth, inspiring stories, testimonies, and life lessons; the greatest resources in the world, sufficient for my needs.

God has designed each of us with a different pattern in our tapestry. He has provided gifts and talents to be utilized for His glory. I pray there will be a poem within these pages that will nudge you in His direction.

A bit about me: my family and I have resided in the Pacific Northwet (no spelling error) for many years. We love the beach, especially the Long Beach peninsula area and the beautiful mountain areas that are so easily accessible.

    Author’s Note

As we ponder through life from childhood to senior years, the journey offers a path of circumstances and choices. Our choices determine the impact of our lives. When our heavenly Father, God Almighty, King of Kings, Creator of the universe, blessed Savior, is invited into our lives—not as an afterthought but as a participant to be included in daily decisions small and large—that is when life begins to take on opportunities to become an intricate part of His plan.

Today may be the time when you have a decision to make to move forward by including Christ, the Creator of the universe; He allows you to choose. If your answer is life in Christ, may I suggest a total surrender with no holding back? Strap on your seat belt; no matter the circumstances, He walks with you. May your focus be front and center on Christ, and allow Him to create a desire in your heart to become all He intended.

I want to thank special friends and family who have offered advice, encouragement, and support for Poetry 2 Ponder. The Holy Spirit and God’s Holy Scriptures were the resources to complete this book.

    A’frayed

Lord, my tapestry may need a tighter weave.

Old behaviors surface and cause me to grieve.

    My threads are hanging bare—

Loose ends with some to spare.

    Strongholds and bondage—freedom is eradicated,

Decisions and choices with boundaries understated.

    It seems to be about control or the lack thereof;

It seems to be about surrender and His faithful love.

Left on my own, my chances appeared slim.

I decided to take time out and sit with Him

To make a stand, map a plan, take a look.

He explained all the answers are in His book.

I asked myself how I became entangled in such a snare,

    Always blaming circumstances appearing unfair,

Never taking a look at the part I played,

Disturbed to be accountable for decisions I made.

Invariably, it is easier to place blame.

It’s been about me so long; it’s my only game.

I tell myself it isn’t true, and that’s a lie—

The easy road, if only I could die.

Here I am, broken and shattered,

    Emptied of frivolous
