About The Author
ACKNOWLEDGEMENTS
I would like to acknowledge the people who contributed to the writing of this book. Thank you to the youth, teens, and young adults of the Bibleway Church of God in Christ who had the courage to tell their story. Their goal is to let their peers know that they are not alone and that victory after failure is always a possibility. Thank you to Deacon William Goss and Sis. Jessica Knotts for the many hours they sacrificed helping with scripture searches, research, and resolutions. Thank you to the Noon Day Prayer warriors, Mother Dessie Gwin and Deacon Benny Phelps who continuously prayed for the success of this book. Thank you to the Teen and Young Adult Tuesday Night Bible study students and Pastor Carl Whitaker for their continued support. Last but not least thank you to Mrs. Gloria Campbell Barnes & Mrs. Cornelia Binford for their clerical and grammatical editing.
This book is dedicated to the Youth and Young Adults of the Bibleway Church Of God In Christ. It has been my passion to teach you the Word of God so that you may be equipped and capable to be victorious in your walk with the Lord. I can only imagine the difficulty you face in these times maintaining a holy, separated, and victorious life with the many temptations that the adversary puts before you on a daily basis. Jesus said, In this world you will have trials and tribulations but be of good cheer, I have overcome the world.
Remember that prayer, praise, and the Word of God is the power pack trio that will sustain and enable you to live a victorious life. Allow the Holy Spirit to empower you with divine fruits that will help you exemplify attributes of God that will convince others that you are His child. (made in his image & likeness(Genesis 1:26). Prayer will open the door for you to develop that personal relationship with Jesus that is so vital in living a Christian life. Praise will keep you strengthen with joy and will lead you to ultimate intimacy with God and our Lord Jesus through worship!!
You have Jesus on your side, the Holy Spirit within you, God’s providence covering you, and the intercessory prayers of your parents and the saints. There is nothing you can’t overcome with this kind of support. No one can stop you from becoming all that you wish to become in the Lord if you so desire. Greater is He that is in you than he that is in the world.
Remember:
(1) Find your purpose . . . . You are here for a reason. God has given each of you abilities, talents and gifts that can be beneficial to you in fulfilling this purpose. These gifts, talents, and abilities are given to you by God to share with others (at home, in your community, on your job or at school, in the church, and others world wide) Seek the Lord, ask Him, What will you have me to do? What gifts do I have that I can use in your vineyard? He will gladly show you!
Discover your gift by recognizing where your passion lies. What do you really enjoy doing? Start there and ask God to guide you toward your particular purpose.
(2) Follow your passion keeping Jesus first at all times. Enhance it, perfect it, and share it. This can be accomplished through spiritual enrichment, higher education, vocational skills, entrepreneurship, help from professionals, and self help materials.
(3) Finish. Don’t be a good starter and a poor finisher. There’s a scripture that says (paraphrased) "The race is not given to the swift nor the strong, but to the one who endures to the end.
Remember these wise tips I always share with others:
48417.png Winners never quit and quitters never win!
48420.png Whatever you do, do it as if Jesus himself was receiving it directly from you!
48422.png Always make people feel like they are the most important people in the world.
48424.png Remember, people don’t care how much you know until they know how much you care!!
48426.png It is not your aptitude that determines your altitude, it is your attitude.
48428.png Talent and skill will get you in the door. Character will determine how long you stay!
As Jesus said to Peter, When you are converted strengthen your brother! When they fall lift them up! When they come short, remember, you fell short too! Exercise the loving character of God always! I love you dearly!!!! May God bless, prosper, protect, and keep you!

INTRODUCTION
This book was intended to provide solutions to problems our youth, teens and young adults face on a daily basis. Challenges from various temptations and issues in the 21st century makes it very difficult to live a victorious Christian life. The stories in this book consist of true situations experienced by individuals ages 10-35 years old. Each situation is followed by solutions and scriptures that will be beneficial for the reader followed by a brief worksheet.
Never in the history of our country has a generation of young people been confronted with such vile temptations. Bound by various strongholds and pressure to yield to temptation, it seems that our youth are falling into the enemy’s trap as much as or more than those who are not saved. Strongholds such as suicides, self mutilations, prostitution, alcoholism, alternate lifestyles, drug addiction, premarital sex, unwedded pregnancies, bullying, and violence are not exclusive to unbelievers or others in the world.
We acknowledge that the body of Christ has many young people who are sold out to Christ. Many churches and denominations have made valuable investments in their young people through teaching and training. We thank God for their wisdom and efforts which will be beneficial to their congregation, community, and families: However; we are concerned with those who may fall by the wayside or be overcome by the pressures of our society. We believe as leaders, that many of our youth are not sufficiently informed nor spiritually prepared to fight against the evil devices of Satan. (Hosea 4:6 . . . My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge.)
This lack of knowledge may be due to:
1. The decline of interest in Bible study, Sunday School, or church attendance. The following are major factors.
a. Untrained, inadequate, or boring teachers
b. Conflicting schedules with school activities
c. The lack of interest in bible study or Sunday School in parents/ guardians. If the parents/guardians do not value Christian education, the children will not value it.
2. Transportation: Families do not live around the corner or a few blocks from their local church. Many live 5 to 20 miles from their church.
• Parents must remember that their children are dependent on them for transportation to church. If the parent is not attending then the child cannot attend.
• Our churches have a responsibility to provide transportation when we are aware of these family issues. If the churches have a desire to increase attendance or reach lost souls, they must include means of transportation in their budget.
3. The lack of spiritual training in the home. Parents should put as much value in their children’s salvation and spiritual education as they do with fashion, school activities, and materialism. Too many parents bring their children to church services but neglect to have them attend bible study and Sunday School where crucial biblical understanding is obtained. It is sad but true that some parents attend Sunday School or bible study and leave their children at home. Participation in youth auxiliaries, groups, and church activities gives the child identity and keeps them interested in church. Christian education should
