      This book is dedicated to the original owners of Eloise, and to all our good friends who have become part of Eloise’s family. But, most of all, to adorable, little Eloise, because without her there would be no story.

      "My name is Eloise.

      I feel lost in this big wide world.

      I weigh seven pounds most of the time.

      That is if I don’t eat too much.

      I’m told I am a miniature poodle;

      However, breeders of miniature poodles say I am too small to be a miniature poodle and too big to be a toy.

      Apparently, my genes got all mixed-up.

      I do love attention like toy poodles do, but then,

      doesn’t everyone?"

      People love me because I am small and so cuddlesome.

      I really am pampered.

      All I have to do is lie on my back and someone will rub my tummy.

      Or I can bend down courteous fashion and someone will scratch my back, which I love.
