      INTRODUCTION

      Dear Reader,

      The purpose of this book is to serve as an information guide in forensic science for an average reader and the public at large. This book gives a general idea of what to look for, and what investigative authorities look for during the course of criminal investigation.

      I am an aspiring novelist. My specialty is crime and mystery novels. During the research on the subject matter of my novels, I devoured one book after the other on forensic science and read numerous articles on the subject. Then I compiled various notes on the subject for reference purpose.

      One day, it occurred to me that there would be other people seeking knowledge on the same subject, and requiring only the basic knowledge of the forensic science to enlighten their minds. So I decided to save their time and labor by publishing this eBook.

      What I have done is to highlight the important points, simplify, and summarize the jargon on forensic science; that I have gone through during the course of my research.

      I hope readers find my endeavor helpful.
