Poet: A Short-Attention-Novel
By Mike Marsden
()
About this ebook
Book 1 in the Cambirsteen series.
A young girl nicknamed Poet uses words to cast spells and battle monsters while searching for a kidnapped friend.
This book comes in two versions. Short-Attention-Span and Normal-Attention-Span
The Short-Attention-Span version has only 56 pages and keeps the story line to a minimum without any subplots or long dialogue or explanations. This was designed for people like me who want action and pictures and a brief story to connect them. I designed it so that a person only reads about a paragraph until they are rewarded by a beautiful picture. My hope is that people who don't usually read can pick this up complete it in a short period of time.
The Normal-Attention-Span novel will be published at a later date.
The Normal-Attention-Span has subplots and intrigue and is much longer like a normal novel. The pictures will be much further apart and more descriptions and backstories on each character.

An illustrator and writer with a short attention spa--- ooh Shiny! Classically trained in oil and acrylic painting but it took too long for the paint to dry. So photoshop is what this hyperactive double-threat uses currently uses. Most of the books I write are geared towards the gamer/fantasy buffs, if you're new to these genres then I welcome you. I have about 20 books written for various series just working on publishing them and finishing the artwork.

Poet hung upside down from a metal beam on the Ferris wheel, watching as the carnival workers passed below her hiding place. A disgusting cudgel fly sat on her leg while it munched on a fruit bat, and even while it did this she remained silent and unmoving. When not a creature was stirring not even a mouse, with the grace of a spider she climbed down and started searching. Peering in each cage for Hamandus, hoping he was still alive.
It had only been a few minutes when she heard someone approaching. She leaned against one of the wagons as she whispered
"Wagon rickety.
Peeling paint and warped dry wood.
Make me one with you."
As the words were uttered her body, clothes and weapons became part of the wagon's splitting boards and flaking black paint.
A woman walked past Poet’s hiding place Boris, I swear a moment ago someone was here.
She muttered as she held up her elegant silver branch.
.
She checked the pink lights floating in the middle
