About this ebook

The Stiletto Girls was created when Glenna West, C. Deanne Rowe, and Maggie Rivers took a much needed break from life and spent a week sitting on the deck of Glenna's antebellum home on a lake.

When three writers get together with lap-tops, books and enough good ol' Southern food to supply an army, fun things happen. Enjoy three short stories from three different authors!

Nikki's Secret – by Glenna West

Nicole Swanson was very happy teaching Kindergarten, but she was hoping to add to her income by having a romance published.  Nicole had no idea after becoming Author Nikki Love, how much hot, steamy sex would become part of her life, not only through her writing, but also after Lucas McFarland.

Night Moves – by C. Deanne Rowe

Whitney Gaylord thought she had her life planned.  A promising career in insurance during the day and another career at night known as Marigold, the most popular dancer at Beach Babes.  Nothing was going to stop her from reaching her goals; that is until she meets Conner Sullivan.

Her Heart's Door – by Magnolia "Maggie" Rivers

Alexis Malone crosses paths with Sheriff Levi Stanton.  Sparks fly when she refuses to show him what's behind the "red door."

WHAT OTHERS SAY ABOUT OUR BOOKS

Nationally renowned historical author Bob Dunbar, author of "To Fame's Proud Cliff," says:

Hot, hotter, and wow!

What? A guy reading a book by a trio of romance authors? You bet, and I had a good time doing it. "Blue Jeans and Stilletos" treats the reader to three stories by three authors exhibiting three separate styles and sensibilities. The stories range progressively from somewhat suggestive to smoking hot. Different from the others as each story is, this collection manages to entertain and hold the readers interest. Looking over the end result as a whole, I would paraphrase Larry the Cable Guy by saying, "Now, that's sexy, I don't care who you are."

    THE LEGEND OF

    THE CHILI PEPPER

    ––––––––

For our many fans, we’ve denoted the degree of hotness in our stories by the designation of chili peppers.

One chili pepper: Is it getting hot in here?

    Two chili peppers: Whoa mama!

Three chili peppers: Do me now!

Take a chance and read all three!

    CHAPTER ONE

Tossing her purse and briefcase on her dining room table, Nicole Swanson searched through the emails on her phone until she found it.

We would like to discuss representation.  When would be a good time to call?

There it was again, that twitch in her stomach when she became excited or nervous.  An agent wanted to talk to her.  A request like that would make anyone nervous.  She sent a query letter to several agents and received one request for a synopsis and several chapters.  After sending those a few weeks ago, she received an email this morning during school.

Nicole made sure her students were all occupied with a quiet time reading project before she sent a quick email reply giving them a time to call in the evening.  It was about time for that call.  She poured herself a glass of wine to occupy her hands as she paced back and forth in her tiny efficiency apartment.

As soon as she began receiving royalties from the sale of her first book, Nicole planned to move to a larger apartment in a better part of town.  If she received a large advance, she might even consider buying a house.  Right now, this was all she could afford on her teacher’s salary.

Her cell phone rang and her heart leaped.

    Calm down, Nicole.

Taking a deep breath she accepted the call.

    This is Nicole.

Nicole, hi, this is Sonya Jones from Williams Literary Agency.  I sent you an email stating I would like to talk to you about representation.  Is this a good time?

    Yes.  It’s a perfect time.

Wonderful, Sonya replied.  First I want to tell you how much I enjoyed your story.  It’s very well written and has a great story line.  It kept my attention.

    I’m glad you liked it.

I did like it.  I liked it enough that I would like to represent you and your story.

Really?  That’s terrific.  I would love that.  Nicole was doing her best to keep her excitement at bay.

There is only one thing... Sonya paused.

One thing?  What would that be?  Nicole asked.

I think your story would sell and sell fast if you added more romance."

More romance?  I guess I don’t understand.  My story is full of romance.  I would have to think about where I could add more.

Let me put it this way, Nicole.  Your story is a sweet romance.  There’s no heat.  No sex.  Everything is behind closed doors.  I want you to swing those doors wide open and let us in.  Tell us what is going on behind those doors in hot, steamy detail.

    Oh.  That kind of romance.

Nicole could feel the heat building on her cheeks.  She was sure she was blushing.  She came from a sheltered background and it had been a long time since she had been in a relationship.  She had only been with one man, her high school sweetheart, and that was several years ago.

I’ve never written that type of romance, but I would be willing to give it a try.

Tell you what, Nicole.  You take a few days to think about it then spice up your story, send it to me and if I like it, you have an agent.  I have the perfect publisher for your story.  It’s a new line of erotic romances.  You would be one of the first authors.

Nicole couldn’t believe she was being offered a contract with an agent who was also promising her she could publish her story.  All she had to do was what Sonya said, open the doors and let them in.

I don’t have to think about it, Sonya.  I would love to revise my story by adding some heat and send it to you.  I’m sure I can write something you would be happy to represent.  How long before you need a revised story?

As soon as you can get it done.  Try not to take more than a few weeks, but make it good.  I’m anxious to see your additions.

Thank you, Sonya.  I promise not to disappoint you, Nicole replied.

I’m sure you won’t.  I have faith in you.  I’ll be checking in every few days to see how you are doing.

    Thank you again, Sonya.

Nicole ended the call and placed her cell phone down on the table before she began her happy dance around her living room.  She suddenly stopped when she realized she had some reading to do.  She had to download some erotic romances and reference books to learn how to write steamy sex scenes.  That’s what Sonya wanted so that’s what Sonya was going to receive.

Signing on to the internet, Nicole’s search for steamy romances began.

    CHAPTER TWO

Careful to download her erotic romances and research on her kindle so she could read them every free moment, Nicole read on her breaks, her lunches and at night when she should be grading papers.  Her eyes were bloodshot in the morning from staying up so late.  It would all be worth it as soon as she finished revising her story and had a signed contract with Sonya as her agent.

The lunch bell rang.  It was time to go back to class and the day.  Nicole turned off her kindle and slipped it back in her purse.  The other teachers knew she loved to read, but none of them knew she was an author.  They had no idea she had written a story and how close she was to having it published.

Now she had to keep it a guarded secret because she was adding hot, steamy sex scenes to her story.  Nicole couldn’t imagine what her co-workers or the parents of her students would think if they found out.

This meant she was going to have to come up with a pen name.  Hiding her identity until she made it big was going to have to be a must.  She couldn’t risk losing her job.  She loved teaching, but making more money as an author would make her more secure in her future.

Nicole hadn’t been in a relationship since she broke up with her high school sweetheart.  Back then her life was all planned out.  Marriage, a house, two and one half children and a white picket fence, planned out until he dumped her for her best friend and future maid of honor.

She decided then to focus on her career and her students.  They would be her substitute children until she could have a few of her own.

Glancing across the room with a huge smile on her face, Nicole clapped her hands together.

Class, settle down.  I hope you all had a good lunch.  It’s time we got back to work.

Nicole watched her students laughing and bumping into each other as they made their way to each desk.  Kindergarten was her favorite age to teach.  Keeping them sweet and innocent for as long as possible was one of her goals.

Keeping herself sweet and innocent was a joke.  She was learning so much from her research.  There were ways to have sex she had never even thought of.  Names for body parts she had never heard.  She had led a sheltered life and writing this book was opening up a whole new world for her.

    ****

She was warm and ready as he entered her.  A steady rhythm sent her body into spasms of pleasure.  Not wanting to disappoint her, his thrust became stronger as her breathing sharpened and she began to moan.  He knew she was close and so was he.

Oh, this is good.  Nicole took another piece of chocolate from the dish next to her computer.  Chocolate was her treat each time she added a sex scene.  Sonya is going to love this stuff.

Letting her ride the waves of pleasure over and over, he did his best to wait until he couldn’t any longer.  The moans of ecstasy were coming from him now.  Falling into each other, they both reached a point of exhaustion.

Another piece of chocolate popped into her mouth made her happy.  Only a few more chapters and she would be finished.  She had been revising for over a week now.  Staying up until all hours of the night, she was worn out during the day when she was trying to teach.  She needed to finish and return her story to Sonya then she could catch up on her sleep.

As soon as her breathing steadied, she whispered in his ear, I want more.  He knew exactly how to please her.  Kissing her skin beginning at her neck, he worked his way down her body stopping at each breast to massage them.  He liked the way her body arched as he took each nipple between his lips.  He could feel his body reacting to hers.  She made him feel things no other woman had.  He wanted to please her.

Nicole glanced at the time.  It was after midnight.  She had to be up early tomorrow for a teacher’s meeting.  She needed to get some sleep.  She would finish this weekend.  She would lock herself in her apartment, have food delivered and not answer her phone.  Nicole could see the light at the end of the tunnel.  She could do this.  Saving her work then shutting down her computer, Nicole took one last chocolate as a reward and climbed into bed.

    CHAPTER THREE

Nicole.  Hi, it’s Sonya from Williams Literary Agency.

    Hi, Sonya.

I wanted to let you know I received your revisions and I have to tell you, I love them.  You did a wonderful job of working steamy sex into your story.  So, if you are willing to make a few changes which will make your story a little hotter, Williams Literary Agency wants to put you under contract for a multiple book deal.

A little hotter?  She already added things she had never experienced herself.  Nicole’s heart began to beat faster.  She was having a hard time forming words.

Multiple books?  That’s great.  I...I...don’t know what to say except yes.  I would love to sign with you and Williams.  There is something I need to ask though.

Sure.  What is that?  Sonya asked.

You know that I teach kindergarten and I’m not sure how my boss and co-workers would take the news of me writing erotic romances.  Not to mention the parents of my students.  Is there any way possible I can use a pen name?

Certainly you can use a pen name.  That wouldn’t be a problem at all.

I just don’t want to take the chance of anyone finding out about my second career until I’m ready to tell them.

We’ll do everything we can to help keep your true identity a secret, but you have to keep in mind the publisher will want an author photo for publicity and for the cover of your book.  So, that being said, I’ll be sending you the edits that need to be made.  Once you return those to me, I’ll submit your story to the publisher.  In the meantime, you might want to start polishing another story or two and have a professional photo made.

She was going to be a published author, but all she heard was have a professional photo made.  Now what was she going to do?  Not only would using her own photo give away her real identity, but having her picture taken was not something Nicole enjoyed.

Looking at the photo on her school security badge reminded her how she wasn’t photogenic at all.  Maybe if she wore some makeup or styled her hair instead of pulling it back in a ponytail or bun, she might be able to pull off another identity.

I suppose finding a gorgeous woman’s picture online won’t work.  Nicole ran her finger over the photo on her badge.  I need to find a disguise.  Wait that’s it.

Nicole turned on her computer and began her search.

    ****

    Welcome to Allure.

Nicole didn’t feel comfortable about this, but she had to come up with a solution so she could be two separate people.  Making a permanent change to her appearance would make it hard for her to hide her writing career at her teaching job.  Coming up with a disguise was the only answer.  She didn’t have a choice if she wanted to keep her two lives separate.

I’m Nikki Love.  I’m here to see Tammy.

No matter how many times she used her author name, it still sounded funny.

Of course, Nikki.  Have a seat and Tammy will be right with you.

She had barely finished thumbing through a hairstyle magazine when someone called her name.

    Nikki.

A strikingly beautiful blonde stood in front of her.  Her figure was perfect and her complexion was flawless.  Nicole was in awe of her beauty.  She was sure the look on Tammy’s face showed how hard she thought she was going to work for her money.  Maybe Nicole could find a way to make Tammy her new author personality.

Come with me and we’ll talk about what you want to do with your look.

Nicole followed Tammy to one of the back studios and took a seat in the salon chair in the middle of the room.  Mirrors lined each wall.  Every direction Nicole turned she could see her reflection. Tammy stood behind her and began running her fingers through Nicole’s hair.
