I'm a young, self published author who, like many others, has a dream to share stories with the world. I enjoy reading, as well as writing dark, horror fiction. Reading a suspense story is like watching the movie; you're setting on the edge of your seat and you can't seem to turn away, no matter how frightening or gruesome it might be. This is the kind of effect I try to have throughout my stories. I want to be able to grab that reader and no matter how terrifying the story gets, it's impossible to put down. I have several projects in the works as of right now, so I tend to remain fairly busy. Two of the projects are going to be sets; both being of the fantasy genre, one medieval and the other more modern.

The Chill of Death
It was a cold, pale, night, with a frost bitten breeze that’ll make the hairs on your arms stick straight up. I step out of my chamber into this bitter cold to have my usual 1:30 am cigarette. The nights aren’t usually this cold or this quiet. When suddenly, I heard a harsh shirk that made my blood run cold and my ears go numb. I guess I spoke too soon.
I had dropped my cigarette when frightened by the horrible cry. I decided to go investigate the matters and started pacing myself into the direction it came from. I came across this alleyway that I was certain that’s where it came from. I know they say don’t travel down dark allies but for some reason I couldn’t convince my legs to quit leading me in that direction. I guess I was determined to find out what that scream was and what caused it.
As in traveled down the alley, it felt as if the temperature had dropped another twenty degrees. It was pitch black and I had no clue where I was going. Luckily, I still had my book of matches in my coat pocket. I struck one, the breeze put it out immediately. More carefully, I struck another. I then took another five steps when I came across the most gruesome and horrific scene in my entire life!
There, right in front of me, laid a body. Well, more like body parts. There were severed limbs right next to the decapitated head and the rest of the vessel. Thick, crimson blood covered everything. I could see this mortal’s intestines on the ground right in front of me. With their flesh and blood surrounding. It was so repulsive and monstrous I started to go visionless when, before I could figure out what was happening, I lost all consciousness. I awoke the next morning, in my bed. I looked around and studied what I seen out of confusion.
How did I end up back at my house? What the hell happened last night? Was it all just a dream?
With so much needing to found out, I quickly arose and went out the door. I first noticed that my cigarette, burnt out, was on the ground where I had dropped it. That told me that I wasn’t dreaming. I stood in that same spot as last night trying to recollect everything. After standing there and pondering for a few minutes I began to head towards that same alley from last night.
As I walked, I felt as if I were walking through a ghost town. There wasn’t a person in sight. I didn’t think anything of it because who knows, maybe the murder struck fear
