Creative History-Collective Insites documents an innovative Australian project that brought together artists and museums in an historic regional town. It will be of interest to artists, creative history students and curators interested in exploring new approaches to collections.
Five artists each worked for several months interacting with an historical collection. The essay documents the processes of the project, presents the artists' final exhibition work, and discusses the diverse approaches to interacting with the collections.
The essay also touches on the role and importance of curators in a regional context and the importance of seed funding for innovation to succeed.
