    Don Mance

    Don Mance was born and raised in Albany, New York. He served in the United States Air Force from 1988-1992, in the Netherlands and the Upper Peninsula of Michigan during the end of the Cold War. Shortly after leaving the Air Force in 1992, Don gave his life to Jesus Christ. He has preached in several churches in Upstate New York and has also done a short term mission to the Dominican Republic. A unique set of circumstances immediately following September 11, 2001 thrust him into a role of spiritual leadership at work. It was this experience that compelled him to write God at Work: Sharing Christ on the Job. Don's second book, The Great Exchange, is an overview of the spiritual dynamics that result from a decision to live for Christ. In August 2014, The Great Exchange was translated and published in Dutch as De Grote Uitwisseling. Marching Orders is Don's third book and was released in August 2015. The book explores the parallels between Christian life and military life. Wee Forrest is Don's latest book. It is a loving tribute to his late father. Don's wife, Mandi, is originally from Glasgow, Scotland. They frequently travel there together.

      The Great Exchange - Don Mance

      Introduction

      I’m writing this book, dear friend, to challenge what you think you know about God. Therefore, as you read it, I need you to do something if it is to truly have an impact on your thinking and on your life. I need you to lay aside any preconceived notions you have about God, through your good or bad experiences with organized religion. I also need you to set aside any conclusions you have come to on your own, or through what you have heard and what you have been taught.

      Will you please do that? What do you have to lose? You may at the end of this book you choose to reject its conclusions. You are absolutely free to do so. I very much thank you for taking the time to read it.

      However, you can also choose to embrace the conclusions offered in this book. If you do, I believe you will begin a wonderful, thrilling journey that will leave you with no regrets. You will also undoubtedly develop a profound sense of God’s love for you and perhaps an understanding of the higher purpose He had in mind when He created you. I would like to offer up a simple prayer to ask precisely these things for you:

      Lord, thank you for the reader of this book. I ask that by Your grace, he or she will let go of any preconceived notions about You, as well as any hurts or wounds experienced that would hinder the wonderful good news contained in this book. May Your truth carry the day, dear Lord. May that truth penetrate the deepest parts of the heart, mind and soul of the reader. May he or she connect with You in a profound, life-changing, everlasting way as he or she discovers the depth of Your love, grace, kindness
