About this audiobook
Volume One features audio interviews with Gareth David-Lloyd (Torchwood), Deborah Watling (Doctor Who), and Phil Willmott (Jupiter Moon). Deborah Watling is best known for her role as Victoria in Doctor Who, alongside the second Doctor, Patrick Troughton. However many people aren’t aware of her extensive acting career on stage, film and television; Born into a theatrical family, her first onscreen roles were as a child in ‘William Tell’ and episodes of ‘The Invisible Man’ (both in1959). But it was her role as Alice in ‘The Life of Lewis Carroll’ that brought her to the attentions of Doctor Who producer Innes Lloyd. Other television roles have included ‘The Newcomers’, ‘Danger UXB’, ‘Rising Damp’ and ‘Doctor in Charge’, while her film work included ‘Take Me High’ with Cliff Richard and ‘That’ll Be the Day’ with David Essex.Deborah has also had a long career on the stage, and her most recent theatre credits range from playing Mrs Alving in Ibsen’s ‘Ghosts’, to Beverly in ‘Abigail’s Party’. Gareth David Lloyd has recently starred in the BBC 3 smash hit Torchwood, playing Ianto Jones. As he gears up towards filming the second series, Gareth talks to us about the pressures of filming Doctor Who’s first successful spin off. Gareth trained at the National Youth Theatre, and his credits include the role of Sebastian in ‘Twelfth Night’ on stage, as well as appearances in television programmes such as ‘Mine All Mine’, ‘Absolute Power’, ‘Casualty’, ‘Rosemary & Thyme’ and ‘The Bill’. He has also recently voiced a collection of stories by MR James for Fantom Films. For cult audiences, Phil Willmott is best remembered as ship science officer Finbow Lewis in 150 episodes of satellite television sci-fi soap Jupiter Moon. As an arts journalist and critic he hosts his own weekly arts show ‘Capital Eyes’ on Resonance 104.4FM. For two years he was a theatre correspondent for BBC London's television news and website, and also for lastminute.com. He has been a regular critic for What's On in London magazine and BBC Radio's ‘The Lavender Lounge’, as well as a appearing as a guest on many other BBC radio shows including Ned Sherrin's ‘Loose Ends’.
