About this audiobook
The poetry living within these pages tells stories of love, heartbreak, freedom, oppression, sexual assault, sexism, hope, and humanity. Our darkest times are where we grow the most, so in this book, i share mine, and together we learn how to heal.
Soft Thorns is a poetry collection that takes the reader on a journey through a young woman’s life—from reckoning with her looks and sexuality to dealing with the trauma of sexual assault, and finally through the highs and lows of young love found and lost. Bridgett Devoue shares her raw, human story and the lessons learned from living a life fully.

- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5I enjoyed it more than I thought I would. For me the poems that stood out and really spoke to were at the end. I love this quote, “Romantics are the new rebels.”
- Rating: 3 out of 5 stars3/5It always makes me happy when I can relate to whatever the author is writing about especially in the form of poetry. Some of the poems I could really relate to I found that I really liked these:
That love I saw reflected in your eyes, It was not meant for me, it was meant for the world. I thought I wasn’t good enough because you left me, but it’s the opposite. I have too much fire and too much love. You couldn’t handle me so you ran. Because I am everything you’re not. Your ghost movie gone but I am not lonely I’m angry I’m grateful.
