Rupert Colley was a librarian in Enfield for 22 years until September 2011. A history graduate, he launched the original History In An Hour in 2009 with a website, blog and ‘World War Two In An Hour’ as an iPhone app. He then expanded it to Kindle, iBooks and into the USA with a series of titles, and enlisted new writers by encouraging guest bloggers on the website. History In An Hour was acquired by HarperCollins in 2011.

What our readers think

Readers find this title very interesting and informative. It provides a concise history of the conflict, with smaller headings that keep the reader intrigued. There is some overlap with other versions, but enough unique content to justify reading/listening to all. It is wonderful to learn about World War 2 in such a short duration.     A concise history of the conflict, broken down into smaller headings - understandably there is quite a bit of crossover between this and the D-Day and Nazi Germany versions (sometimes word for word) but there's still enough content in each to justify listening to all!
