About this audiobook
An unputdownable story of murder, revenge and betrayal from international number one bestseller Jeffrey Archer.
THE CLOCK IS TICKING IN THIS ROLLERCOASTER RIDE OF A THRILLER…
In London, the Metropolitan Police set up a new Unsolved Murders Unit – a cold case squad – to catch the criminals nobody else can.
In Geneva, millionaire art collector Miles Faulkner – convicted of forgery and theft – was pronounced dead two months ago. So why is his unscrupulous lawyer still representing a dead client?
On a luxury liner en route to New York, the battle for power at the heart of a wealthy dynasty is about to turn to murder.
And at the heart of all three investigations are Detective Chief Inspector William Warwick, rising star of the Met, and ex-undercover operative Ross Hogan, brought in from the cold.
But can they catch the killers before it’s too late?

- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5Jeffrey Archers books never fail. William Warrick is my new obsession!
- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5Over My Dead Body is a good story from beginning to end with the end opened for the next story about William Warwick. There is no sex or violence only good guys and bad guys. There is a lot of information about famous artworks. Over My Dead Body was given four stars in this short review.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5Just a great story.......and so easy to follow and get engrossed in when listening on audio...
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5Wonderful magnificent thrilling could not stop listening and I did not want it to end
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5I just plain LOVE Jeffrey Archer's books....ALLL of them! They just never disappoint---and what a collection of events all rolled into one novel!! Particularly appealing was the interview with Archer at the end of the novel---and the hint that another book in this series is already underway...it may even be done by now!
- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5If you're a fan of Jeffrey Archer you've heard the name William Warwick (The Clifton Chronicles). And you also know that Archer is simply an awesome author. Always intricate plotting and deep character development. I received a copy of this book from goodreads.com and of course, read it immediately. Now I know I must have the first three in the series. If you can read them in order, it will enhance your enjoyment but this one certainly can be read as a standalone.
- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5I have always enjoyed Jeffrey Archer novels and "Over My Dead Body" did not disappoint. I only found at the end of the novel that this was number four in the series, so now I intend to go back and read the earlier adventures of Detective William Warwick. However, I don't think I was disadvantaged not having read the other three novels first. I found "Over My Dead Body" quite satisfactory as a stand-alone.
As per usual, this latest offering of Jeffery Archer was fast-paced, intriguing and well-written, and kept me interested from the first page. There was a lot going on and I enjoyed hopping from country to country. I also thought Warwick was a worthy protagonist. An entertaining read. - Rating: 3 out of 5 stars3/5The 4th installment in the William Warwick series is a masterclass in the powers of observation required to be a successful detective. Warwick is still on the hunt for Miles Faulkner who has escaped from him in the past, to bring him to justice. Miles is also still trying to keep 50% of his fortune from going to his ex-wife, Christine.
The story is part art heist, deception, and the chase of the criminals.
Some of it was tedious, and it seemed a bit of a departure from earlier Archer books. I still love Jeffrey Archer and his books, but this one wasn't my favorite. Perhaps I will enjoy book 5 better. - Rating: 3 out of 5 stars3/5OVER MY DEAD BODY begins with the London Metropolitan Police Department forming a special department to look into cold cases. There are several of them. Detective Chief Inspector William Warwick and, Ross Hogan, who, until recently, had served as an undercover agent were called upon to work on solving them.
The theft and forgery of art works and an unscrupulous millionaire art collector appear to figure prominently in one of the cases. Unfortunately, he had been pronounced dead two months previously.
One section explains what’s necessary for a museum or gallery to borrow a piece of art. It mentions the art stolen from Jews during the Holocaust, many of which still have not been returned.
There are interesting characters and twists and turns but the story seems familiar. - Rating: 3 out of 5 stars3/5A thriller with a light touch, some likable characters, interesting settings and situations make for another solid installment in the DCI William Warwick series. No real surprises, just a few enjoyable hours reading a slightly dated British police procedural. A special nod to the alternate universe inhabited by characters known as Inspector Watchit, PC Plod and the Doubtfuls.

I haven't read Archer in a few years, and now I can't remember why not! Excellent tangle of a story! Set in several locations in 1988, the protagonists are all working for The Yard. The senior officer is DCI Warwick who is under a superintendent known as The Hawk. Lots of colorful characters on both sides of the law in a tense atmosphere with many deadlines. Superb storytelling that caught me up in its web and wouldn't let go!
I requested and received a free ebook copy from Harper 360, HarperCollins via NetGalley. Thank you!
