About this audiobook
We were brainwashed by society into building our life on the unquestioned belief that without money, power, success, approval, romance, etc., we cannot be happy. It's a false belief that has us constantly striving, constantly focused on what we don't have, constantly at the mercy of things and people as we try desperately to make life conform to society's formula for happiness, only to discover it offers nothing more in the way of a happy life than temporary respites from the fear of failing.
Suppose there is a way of waking up from all that, where what is false and neurotic within you would drop with little or no effort on your part and your eyes would open to the reality of joy surrounding you. Here it is: Stop Fixing Yourself, the new book by Anthony De Mello that helps you rediscover the life you were meant to live.

- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5A must read/listen to book, because it reminds one of self reflection through awareness, especially within us and the surroundings.
Wow, if one can drop his or her delusions he will be able to live a stress free life while being themselves as a child. We have been conditioning to bite in certain manner of doing things, and if things are not happening in that manner we are ultimately disappointed, resentful and bitter.
I will listen to it again.1 person found this helpful

- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5This was a Godsend to me. I appreciate the fact that De Mello is informed by a substantial tradition (jesuit) and is pretty fluent in other traditions as well + is very common sense in many ways. Some wake up without a tradition/religion, but for me as a theologian De Mello's language is more understandable that that of more independent mystics'.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5Sencillo pero dice algunas verdades que no nos paramos a pensar. Volvería a leerlo. Lo recomiendo.
