Frog and Toad are indeed, friends. This book shows a comfortable friendship and the things friends do for one another. The text is large and easy to read, and the words are simple, but the story is so full of elegant wit. I would recommend this so much more over so many of the more contemporary early reader books which have so little substance. Granted, some children may find the book a little old-fashioned, but I think if they give it a chance they will quickly get engaged and find themselves laughing out loud.

Truly a classic children's book. A Caldecott winner for good reason and the lessons in these simple stories are wonderful.

This is a great book for children to show them the true meaning of friendship. Frog and Toad are Friends has five short stories that show how these two friends get along - and what they do for each other.

Love that it has chapters - kids that age get really excited when they can read a chapter. Toad is the dumb one, I always forget. And I really enjoy the illustrations (take that Nicolajeva) although they are very 70s.But an interesting juxtaposition - Frog and Toad are very anthropomorphized, but the rest of their world is realistic even the other creatures,The swimming story is interesting (Toad doesn't want anyone to see him in his bathing suit and when he eventually comes out of the water, Frog laughs at him - no sorry resolution).

This book follows Frog & Toad on their adventures throughout their days together. It consists of five funny short stories with wonderful illustrations. Out of all of the stories, my favorite was "A Swim".

Frog and Toad Are Friends is a chapter book for young readers. The illustrations offer clues for young readers that will help keep them engaged. Each chapter offers a new story for the reader, and includes the elements of a story such as plot, setting, characters, etc. Frog and Toad are two friends with an unusual friendship. Though they have similarities their differences are very much highlighted in these stories.

I'm in the minority I guess with this book. I didn't find it all that engaging or fun, nor was I blown away by the illustrations. But it is a chapter book for young readers and may be a good start for them. Two characters - Toad and Frog - and what they do together. Each story has a lesson.

This is a great book for you to have in your classroom. I would have it in a 2nd grade. It is very easy to read but it has five different stories and adventures that frog and toad go through.

This is a really good book on friendship and teamwork that would be good in younger level classrooms. It's hits topics such as embarrassment, being patient, and of course, being a good and supportive friend. I think it would be a fun read loud because it's a few stories within one book, so the students would be excited to hear about Frog and Toad's escapades each day.

This story is in a chapter book about Frog and Toad and the many adventures they go on together. This story, Spring in particular is about Frog wanting to get Toad to stop sleeping and play with him now that it is spring time!Toad is not interested and wants to go back to sleep so frog finds a way to trick his friend so that he will wake up and want to go outside to enjoy the spring weather.

My favourite book of my childhood - it always makes me think of my brother and I.I don't think there is anything homo-erotic about this. It just gives an entertaining read upon a Utopian and Dystopian friendship if at all. If I were to do a similar work as my first book, I would be quite stoked about it to be honest. Frog and Toad rules !!!

Reason for Reading: Ds read aloud to me as his reader.Another fine collection of short stories about friends Frog and Toad. Frog is the wiser one with Toad being the one with more silly ideas. As usual we have five stories which are not related to each other. In the first Toad decides to write a list of everything he will do that day and he does not deviate from it until he looses the list, which creates quite the problem. Next Frog gives Toad some seeds to plant his own garden and Toad is very impatient for them to grow. He talks to them, yells at them, sings to them, reads them stories, plays music etc. all to no avail. The third story has Frog and Toad with a freshly baked bowlful of cookies which they can't stop eating and they try to come up with a way to make the cookies inaccessible so they can no longer eat anymore and make themselves sick. The fourth story has Frog and Toad wanting to be brave like the heroes in fairy tales so they take a walk up a dangerous mountain and encounter various dangers along the way running quickly back home and feeling quite brave. Finally Toad has a dream where he can do all sorts of performing arts in a theatre where Frog is watching him. But after each act Frog gets smaller and smaller, until Toad looses his friend altogether. Wonderful stories for all ages, but I think "Frog and Toad All Year" is my favourite so far.

Tiffany Warren is able to craft a compelling story. I received the book as an LT Early Reviewer and I'm very much not in the book's target demographic--I'm an atheist who doesn't read romance or chick-lit but likes erotica--and I'll admit that I was eager to find out what happened to the characters.Unfortunately, I couldn't give the book higher marks because there are some structural problems with it. The ultimate conflict of the book was minimal and was almost immediately resolved. Also, the characters felt very two-dimensional. Darrin's conversion felt very rushed and I found it hard to believe that an avowed player would immediately change his ways after a few church visits.Ultimately, this is an adequate light read but it isn't very taxing.

The classic and beloved Frog and Toad book! This book is a good book for early readers as well as to read aloud to early elementary students. The characters are likeable and we can relate to them.

Frog and Toad Are Friends is a good book that tells a stroy to children about a friendship. I think children like this book so much because it is a chapter book which makes the children feel like they are accomplishing a lot when reading this book. The author also gives children a good example of friendship.

Frog and Toad have enjoyed lasting popularity, and for good reason. Lobel’s well-loved classic about two best friends is sweet, funny and entertaining. Divided into five stories, Lobel touches on themes familiar to children, including friendship, loneliness, and embarrassment. Frog and Toad lean on each other to remedy any problems they have. The choice of language is perfectly appropriate for early readers. Certain words are repeated throughout the stories, so readers can cement their understanding of those words they have successfully decoded. The font is large and interspersed with illustrations. Children will return to this series again and again because the stories are fun and interesting. Their reading skills will be honed as they follow Frog and Toad’s adventures.

This series is a great way to get children to start thinking about the dynamics of friendship. They illustrate the ways that friends help each other out as well as the ways that friends can upset one another.Frog and Toad Are Friends invites beginning readers to celebrate friendship in these happy stories. An important thing about this book is that students can read them by themselves.

This is a fantasy early chapter book about a frog and toad's relationship. The frog and toad are the main characters who do many things, including talk. I would use this in the classroom for beginning readers and for teaching on relationships. I think the characters frog and toad were fairly round characters, but we didn't know much about their past.

A great beginning read for children, although there are not too many pictures I still enjoyed the book. I think this would be great for bedtime and could be used to teach or emphasize the importance of friends.
