Kate Khavari

Kate Khavari is the author of fiction ranging from historical mysteries to high-fantasy epics. What our readers think

Readers find this title to be a fresh and fun romp that accurately portrays academia. The cozy her-story mystery series is a great read with well-developed characters and a good narrator. While some readers found the story simple and the dialogue and characters lacking depth, others enjoyed the botanist perspective and the absence of profanity. Overall, it is a cute mystery that could have had more of a love story, but still a good read.

A fun and interesting mystery with light romance and STEMinist themes. I’ll listen to the next in the series.

Really enjoyed this story. It was playful even while trying to figure out who was the poisoner. I enjoyed the era-specific clothing and gender norms represented here too.

I absolutely loved this. It kept my attention, wasn’t too scandalous and the narrator had the most pleasing voice.

It took me a little bit to get into this story, but once I began to fully understand all the characters the story was a cute mistery, i wish there was more of a love story but over all a good read.

Where to start -- I enjoyed the botanist prospective storyline: it was something new to me. I came to the realization that I don't enjoy this time period (London 1923). The story is simple, the dialogue is simple, the characters are simple. Argh. Basically 300 pages of nothing.

I had a difficult time understanding clearly the narration. She had the Eng!ish dialect, troublesome for me sometimes, and there were a few times the audio (whisper) was too low to hear. I

I will give kudos to the author and publisher, and all others making decisions for no profanity. For that I would gift this book in either format (physical or audio).

This is okay for someone else. Sadly, it was a chore that will leave a sour taste when I hear about it or see the beautiful cover.

Thank you NetGalley and Dreamscape Media for accepting my request to read and review A Botanist's Guide to Parties and Potions.
