So, you think this one’s special?’ Barry asked, joining his wife Jenny as she stood by the bay window waiting for her brother Tim to arrive.

‘She must be important to him,’ Jenny said. ‘I can’t remember the last time he brought a girlfriend over to meet us.’

‘I bet you can!’ Barry chuckled.

‘Well, yes there was that awful woman who didn’t stop complaining from the moment she arrived. Moaning Minnie! Thank goodness nothing came of that.’

‘Never mind,’ Barry said cheerfully. ‘He’s got plenty of time to meet the right one.’

‘He’s almost 50! I really don’t know why he’s been so unlucky in love.’

‘He’s a bit on the shy side and, let’s face it, his office is full of men. I doubt he has much chance to meet women.’

A car pulled up outside and Barry gave Jenny a reassuring hug. ‘You look great, love. That jumper goes well with your jeans.’

‘You don’t think it’s too old?’

‘It’s a classic,’ Barry told her. ‘Besides
