Spotlight on … HALIFAX: TRANSGRESSION

For almost three decades, Roger Simpson has captivated audiences with his TV series, starring Rebecca Gibney. Now, he’s set to release three novels under the banner and, naturally, he had his muse Gibney in mind when putting pen to paper. In the first of the trio, Jane Halifax investigates brutal murders inspired by Medieval torture. Despite being his inspiration, Gibney be adapted to television? “I do know a little about Roger’s plans for the other books and it’s exciting,” Gibney tells WHO from her home in New Zealand. “There are things you can do in books that are tricky to translate to the screen. You can explore characters in more detail and really get inside the heads of the people.
