THE SEA KING

The Sea King lived in the ocean off the coast of New Zealand. He was young and brave, with a mighty mane of green hair like thick seaweed, and impressive tattoos on his arms.

His fortress was a reef of black stone, decorated with seashells and sponges and corals of many colours. The crabs and octopuses and seagulls were his servants, and his soldiers were the silvery fish of the sea.

One day, the Sea King heard the sound of weeping and wailing on the seashore.

“What is that noise?” he thought
