ASSASSIN’S CREED VALHALLA

Assassin’s Creed Valhalla players got a nice little surprise at the end of 2021 in the recent 1.4 update. A new area unlocked for us to explore: The Isle of Skye, though Scottish accents seem to be in short supply during the Viking age. There are new mysteries, artifacts, and wealth to find as well as a few new raids to complete, plus an exciting new quest.

Night terrors have gripped the population, and folk have begun acting in a very strange manner, with Valka predicting that Randvi is the cause. Upon a little investigating, Eivor discovers that it’s not Randvi at all, but ’s protagonist, Kassandra, who seems to be the root of the issue. She’s immortal and also an affiliate of the Hidden Ones, similar to Eivor, though her arrival was unexpected. The two battle it out amidst dozens of corpses—incredibly cool two watch if you’ve picked female Eivor, especially—before forming an alliance of sorts as they hunt for a hidden artifact. They even have a little drinking competition at the end, and engage some flyting to toast a newlywed couple, as well as their newfound friendship. Who said assassins can’t be pals?
