Regular readers of this column will have noticed that, generally, I have kept away from the Covid furore. Now, as governments, health bodies and culture warriors get ready to celebrate the second birthday of a bug, I’m going to dip a toe into the murky, conspiratorial waters that, while they sadly have not drowned the crisis, have certainly given a surprising number of folks wet feet.
