    What is it?

    The metaverse is a shared virtual environment, which people can access via the internet. Traditionally, the term has been used by gamers to refer to gaming worlds, in which their characters walk around and interact with other players, but the metaverse is now being envisioned for other purposes, including education, entertainment and conducting business.
