How to… knit like a pro!

1 WRITE EVERYTHING DOWN

You can always tell a well-loved knitting pattern because it’ll have scribbles all over it. We suggest photocopying the pattern so that the original stays pristine. As you work through, tick off the rows to help you keep track when instructions get tricky.

2 START NEW BALLS AT THE ROW END

Even if you’re really neat at darning in your ends it can be hard to disguise a ball change. Always start a new ball at the beginning of a new row, one stitch in. Some knitters knit with both ends together for a couple of stitches, others drop the old ball and start the new one. See what works for you!
