Retreat time for me right now is made up of mini breaks throughout the day: Morning journalling followed by yoga, which I do outside when the sun is shining; moments when I breathe consciously; an evening Epsom salt bath, when I read my book; listing five things for which I am grateful before I sleep at night…
You don’t have to retreat at home alone. Our family art sessions are a lovely and often hilarious escape, and we also express gratitude before our evening meal to help us stay grounded and keep perspective.
Whatever your situation and whatever you choose to do, your future self will thank you for putting the chores and worries to one side, if only for a spell.
