Really wild THING

We recently had the chance to ring TV presenter, photographer and nature-lover Chris Packham for a phone chat. He was talking to us from a windy field behind his house, watching two of his nine-month-old poodle puppies frolic by the fire pit. Their training had come to a standstill for our conversation. “The minute my back is turned they’re up to naughtiness,” says Chris, with just the right level of nuanced cheekiness that he’s known for on our television screens. Chris was gearing up for a new season of Springwatch on the BBC (which was later postponed due to the coronavirus outbreak), as well as working on some new projects with Wildlife Rebellion. With us, he discussed the motivations for his nature photography, and why it keeps him sane.

What important projects are you currently working on?
