Rabbiters knife proves its worth

I was recently asked by Russell Gallagher, a North Queensland farmer, to make him a rabbiters knife matching the design of his shaving blade. He was confident of a perfect layout for its purpose. He skins large numbers of rabbits at various times and speaks with conviction.

The design is at variance with all of my previous experience involving rabbiters and sparked my interest to look at this type of knife more closely.
