UIDELINES FOR OBTAINING A MARRIAGE LICENSE In the Central Florida region, the legal age for marriage is 18 years old. Those who are 16–17 must have parental consent. Florida has a required three-day waiting period (which can be waived upon completion of a premarit al course) and asks that both the bride and groom present a valid photo ID and a Social Security card to obtain the marriage license, which is valid for 60 days. Residency and blood tests are not required. Both the bride and groom must apply for and sign the license together. There is a fee of $93.50 (methods of payment vary), which can be reduced to $61 upon completion of a premarital course.
