I think my Mac’s got a graphics card problem, but when I hold the D key at startup the Mac won’t enter Apple Hardware Test. What’s wrong?
Step through the process by the book: shut down your Mac, disconnect everything bar Ethernet and display, and connect the keyboard and mouse/trackpad over USB. If a firmware password is set, start up in macOS Recovery first and turn it off (bit.ly/mffwpwd). When ready, start up the Mac (rather than restart), holding D throughout.
If that still doesn’t work, repeat with Alt+D held instead, which
