Welcome to Chatterbox Quilts, the source for quilting improvement and enjoyment. If you are passionate about quilting and are looking to improve your skills, stretch your abilities, try new ideas or just have fun then Chatterbox Quilts has something for you.
Hi, I’m Kim Jamieson-Hirst and I started Chatterbox Quilts over 8 years ago. It’s come a long way from a simple blog talking about what project I was working on that week to the company it is today. Chatterbox Quilts has always been about offering solutions to help people improve their quilting but now the solutions are offered in many formats, from a blog, pattern shop, YouTube videos, courses, Facebook, and my membership, The Quilter’s Way.
The evolution of Chatterbox Quilts has reflected my journey as a quilter. In the early days of my journey it was all about the techniques. As I became more proficient as a quilter I realized that learning more techniques is not the secret to enjoying your quilting to its fullest. It became clear to me that while it was important to hone my skills, it wasn’t the secret to getting the most enjoyment from my quilting.
I found that I enjoyed quilting the most when I was quilting what I wanted, when I wanted, and when I was connected with other quilters.
If you are like me: passionate about quilting, wanting to improve your quilting experience, are willing to invest in your quilting journey, then you are going to enjoy Chatterbox Quilts.
The Quilter's Way
The Quilter’s Way (TQW) is the online equivalent of a quilter’s guild with in-depth courses, articles, videos, and discussions on all aspects of the quilting experience including skills, mindset, time management, and studio set-up. In this private paid membership you’ll find all of this in a supportive and fun community where you get to know other quilters who are improving their skills while supporting each other. No distractions, no ads, no trolls or “Debbie Downers”. Just quilting and inspiration 24/7.
Inspire
If you are looking for a quick tip or a short video about a technique, then Chatterbox Quilt’s YouTube channel is for you. With over 400 videos, it is the go-to place for videos on tips and techniques, product and book reviews, and the occasional project. If you’re looking for a quick no-nonsense video about a specific topic, this is the place to visit.
The Chatterbox Quilts’ Blog has evolved over time. I use my blog to dive deeper into specific subjects that deserve more attention than a quick Facebook post or YouTube video could offer. These subjects may also have been covered in a weekly email but are so helpful I create a blog post for people who may have missed the original emails. The discussion of some subjects are just better suited to the written word.
Emails are an important way to keep up to date on what is going on in Chatterbox Quilts (e.g. challenges, new course, etc.). They allow me to discuss important (and sometimes controversial) aspects of quilting that don’t fit neatly into a quick post. Emails often include stories from my own quilting journey or reference content from other parts of Chatterbox Quilts. It’s the best way to be sure that you aren’t missing out on any important quilting information.
