During each of our lifetimes there will be events which will eventually make their way into the history books.

But when we look back at history, time can deceive us. Sometimes people we consider closely intertwined with a particular time period lived through events that we wouldn’t associate with their era.

Others missed out on discoveries which shape our world today. For example, George Washington, who died in 1799, wouldn’t have known about the existence of dinosaurs - because fossils weren’t correctly identified as such until 1842.

In this quiz you will be asked a series of questions about famous figures from across history and the events they may or may not have lived through. Why not give it a go?
