- Reviewed in the United States on May 9, 2021This is a provocative play that poses some eternal questions. It is also an entertaining piece.
- Reviewed in the United States on April 8, 2015Phenomenal play, translated into French by the author himself!
- Reviewed in the United States on October 11, 2009The book was delivered in a timely fashion, and it arrived as it was described. Just what I wanted.
- Reviewed in the United States on July 5, 2014Too many irremovable stickers on the book.
- Reviewed in the United States on June 5, 2010I read this book in French. It was tough for someone for whom French is the second language. But it was marvelous. Great read. Recommend it for anyone 16 and older. A classic must read. English would be ok too!

- Reviewed in the United States on February 10, 2012This was by far THE worst book I have read in my long career of French studies (13+ years). The theater of the absurd is nonsense. There is no meaning, substance, lesson, or anything remotely interesting to extrapolate from this play. I understand that that is "the point" of absurdist theater, but if you want to read something meaningless you might as well save your money and buy Snooki's book instead. This play has awful character development and no plot. What do I mean when I say "NOTHING HAPPENS. TWICE"? It was a quote from one of the reviews of this play when it was published, and it was well merited! The first act is just like the second: the same action happens in both, and by action I mean nothing. Seriously. Nothing relevant, special or even memorable happens. Two bums are waiting for Godot, someone whose existence they are not even sure of. They spend their time having conversations that don't make sense or follow a reasonable train of thought. I cannot stress enough how unpleasant it is to read this book. Our professor explained that Beckett wrote this with the intent of having the audience/readers feel frustrated and annoyed. Mission accomplished, Mr. Beckett. However, I want my money back. This play is a poor excuse for literature. Anybody who praises this play is a pretentious suckup.

5.0 out of 5 stars This IS the full play and NOT a study guide.
I had seen a number of reviews down here that gave the product 1-star for being a study guide of the book instead of the play proper. The copy I received is the full play and not a study guide.

5.0 out of 5 stars Best in the original language
Having read Waiting For Godot in English, I can appreciate how much better this story is in its intended language. I highly recommend this book to English learners of French who are quite advanced but still looking to improve.
