Quantum Holographic Brain Theory

In an attempt to formulate a coherent view of quantum reality, the theoretical physicist David Bohm has proposed a new concept of order to supplement the mechanistic Cartesian order of traditional physics. The "implicate" order is a subtler and deeper order that emphasizes "unbroken wholeness in flowing movement," in contrast to the coarser and more superficial, "explicate" Cartesian order of distinct phenomena.

This dissertation attempts to develop a meaning for the idea of implicate order in the human world. First is offered an account of some evolutionary episodes in terms of implicate and explicate order which draws on compatible work in cosmology, embryogenesis, visual perception, brain memory, decision making and phenomenology.

Two important characteristics of the implicate order are then identified: in an implicate order, the whole is enfolded (or represented) in each of its parts; and all parts renders different perspectives of the whole. Using arguments from decision making, the study of "flow" in human consciousness, and a model of skill acquisition, it is suggested that these characteristics manifest themselves in the human world as the "unity experience" and the "diversity experience," respectively. The former is the experience that a given part of one's life reveals a larger wholeness or unity; the subject-object distinction is transcended and one becomes absorbed in the flow of whatever activity is pursued. The latter is a deep appreciation of the diversity of ways in which people may seek the unity experience. These experiences are proposed as general values: social and psychological conditions ought to be such that these experiences are enhanced in all people.

A two-by-two matrix of these experiences demonstrates the danger of pursuing one to the exclusion of the other. The experience of unity without diversity turns into absolutism, the insistence that one's chosen activities or beliefs are the only right one. The experience of diversity without unity becomes relativism, the excessive tolerance of and indifference to other people's pursuits. The good life lies in the simultaneous realization of both, unity-in-diversity. Lastly, it is suggested that this so-called unity-diversity matrix may be used as a personal compass the meaning of which is negotiated and calibrated in a community of users.

The author of this article is a theoretical physicist and computer scientist, who has no background in literature or creative writing. Nor did he intend to write a book on poetry. This book entitled: “About Love” came as Divine Inspiration. The writing was so captivating, majestic, fascinating and effortlessly magical. The poems came to him during the draft of his book Digital Physics: The Meaning of the Holographic Universe and Its Implications beyond Theoretical Physics. During the writing, he started asking himself many questions, particularly about where do our ideas come from? Is there a universe of ideas out there that we have access to it? Indeed, he is aware that some of our thoughts originate from the books we read, from school, society and the environment surrounding us, but that perhaps does not answer the question. The facts before his eyes say that not all our ideas come from society or learning.

This paper presents an understanding of consciousness based on Bantu cosmology. The author's motivation is to discuss consciousness in a new light. The writer has included some stories that he heard and events he witnessed during his childhood. In Bantu cosmology, the universe is governed by souls or spirits (taken here as consciousness). These are found in all elements of the universe: in trees, stones, wind, animals, and human beings, etc. The author argues that this idea is worth investigating to assess whether the Bantu understanding of consciousness can provide a better understanding of physical theories concerning consciousness.

Modern day science claims that all things manifest is made of matter and can be reduced to the elementary particles of matter. However, where do those elementary particles of matter originate? According to theoretical physicist Professor Amit Goswami Ph.D., consciousness is the ground of all being simply meaning that all things begin with consciousness. This perspective suggests that consciousness follows a downward causation organizational pattern rather than the current upward theory that everything begins with matter. This paper will offer a more advanced, detailed perspective of how consciousness is the primary administering organization of physical, atomic matter as known in quantum quantum morphogenetic field physics and mechanics. This book is aimed at undergraduate and graduate students, researchers or those interested in looking for an alternative to string theory (ST) or statistical quantum mechanics. It assumes a basic working knowledge of information theory, computation, quantum mechanics (QM), space-time and cosmology, ST and loop quantum gravity (LQG). Digital physics (DP) is an all-encompassing theory of the universe which attempts to unify the forces of the universe, including gravity, in a single framework. The premise of DP is that at the fundamental level, matter is made up of information. Recent advances in the physics of information suggest that the universe is more fundamentally made up of bits or qubits: everything in the cosmos, from black holes to galaxies and planets registers these bits of information. In addition, the holographic property of the universe suggests that information is the basis for understanding reality. It appears that humans, animals, plants and particles, in fact everything in the universe, communicates, computes and transmits information non-locally and holographically.

What is the Ancient Future? How can these opposite words possibly come together and actually mean something coherent? Is there a definition of Ancient Future? This philosophical essay presents insights from a research I have been working in. It is an exegesis of the term Ancient Future and it explores its modern cultural meanings across a multidimensional timeline of humanity. The study focuses on the fact that its two compound words, Ancient and Future, are directly correlated to the fourth dimension of time (4th Dimension), therefore the interpretation is done from a multidimensional perspective which also extends to the 5th and 6th Dimension. A hermeneutical analysis shows that the Maya Civilisation included a multidimensional Ancient Future aspect, which far exceeds the behaviour of any other Ancient Civilisation. It also finds that the cultural meanings of this term appear to have been expressed as a mere descriptive adjective supporting other conceptualisations, rather than defining the concept itself. Therefore, this writing presents a philosophical definition and theory of Ancient Future, establishing the existence of three types of Ancient Future, one within the field of Prophecy, one within the field of Revelation and one within the field of Wisdom. The conclusions of this work maintain that Ancient Future is essentially the continuum infinite loop of the Cosmos reflected in Multidimensional Consciousness.

Gustav Fechner, the German experimental psychologist, coined the term psychophysics in 1860, publishing the first mathematical equation to model human consciousness. Fechner assumed that any future approaches to consciousness would include mathematical and physical underpinnings. In 1995, the cognitive scientist and philosopher David Chalmers coined the phrase "the hard problem" as being that of connecting consciousness with some physical substrate.  According to Chalmers, "The really hard problem of consciousness is the problem of experience. Most existing theories of consciousness either deny the phenomenon, explain something else, or elevate the problem to an eternal mystery." As Chalmers points out, unfortunately, the modern scientific community has not yet produced a model of consciousness supported by mathematics and physics, thus no progress in Fecher's "psychophysics." 
However there is growing interest among the scientific community in string theory, the only branch of mathematical geometry that has successfully explained recent discoveries in high energy particle physics. The mathematical proof of string theory requires the existence of a ten dimensional universe.  But in trying to map consciousness, science continues to limit its data search within time and the three spatial dimensions, ignoring six of string theory's ten dimensions  Perhaps because mainstream science tacitly limits itself to four of the ten dimensions, progress has come to a dead end. Accordingly, the most widely accepted theory among neurophysiologists is that consciousness is somehow a "byproduct" of the electrical sparking of neurons, an accidental epiphenomenon of the activities of nerve-filled wet meat.
This paper considers data beyond the four dimensional constraints of the scientific establishment. It is my contention that many recorded accounts of philosophers, mystics, and shamans can and should be considered as data. My thesis is that these accounts express experience and observation within one or more of the additional dimensions predicted by string theory. Any advance in psychophysics must take into account not only the language and domains of mathematics, particle physics, and neurobiology, but also the experiential domains of philosophers and mystics. It is in regarding data from these multiple domains of inquiry that a new model of consciousness will emerge. In this paper I hypothesize a psychophysics, woven of strands from mathematics, mysticism, and physics, to address and solve "the hard problem."

This book is intended to provide a comprehensive introduction to the current debate on the physical principles underlying the theory of digital physics (the physics of information, computation, self-organization and consciousness) as an alternative to statistical quantum mechanics and string theories in the quest for the theory of everything. Its emphasis lies in providing the basic conceptual and analytical tools underpinning further study in the area. The book is therefore presented from a unified viewpoint with connections drawn among what may seem to be disparate topics. It begins with an overview of the basic concepts needed to start the discussion of computation. These concepts include quantum theory, information theory, computation, quantum computers, discrete mathematics, simulation, cellular automata, and holography.

An Overview of the Mechanics of Creation of the Cosmos that may be regarded as the body of an Omnipotent, Omniscient, Omnipresent SOURCE (commonly referred to as "God") as a fountain of pure consciousness energy, and us as humans thriving within it, has been presented. In this vital and groundbreaking exploration of the universe, the author has written a compelling work allowing us to understand the universe through the computational and consciousness model. In Digital Physics: Decoding the Universe, Ediho Lokanga argues that information and consciousness may offer a unifying language for quantum theory and general relativity, offering a new perspective on quantum gravity (QG) and the theory of everything (ToE), thus contributing to a better description of the universe. There is no doubt that the last few years have demonstrated the important role that information and consciousness play in allowing us to understand physics and science in a new light.

Alfredo Pereira Jr.’s target essay “The Projective Theory of Consciousness” is an experimental statement, drawing on many diverse sources, exploring how consciousness might be produced by a projective mechanism that results both in private selves and an experienced world.  Unfortunately, pulling together so many unrelated sources and methods means none gets full attention. Furthermore, it seems to me that the uncomfortable breadth of this paper unnecessarily complicates his project; in fact it may hide what it seeks to reveal. If this conglomeration of diverse sources and methods were compared to trees, the reader may feel like the explorer who cannot see the forest for the trees. Then again, it may be the author who is so preoccupied with foreground figures that the everpresent background is ultimately obscured.

The present exploratory research aims to investigate the history of holographic art in an attempt to understand the reasons for its discontinuity, if indeed this occurred and the factors that provoked it. The main theoretical reference is the recent book 3D History, Theory and Aesthetics of Transplane Image of German researcher Jens Schröter, University of Siegen. Time and space are basic and fundamental elements not only of all multimedia art but also of the deeper philosophical questions concerning the nature of reality, ontology.

The word soul in the cell-soul pathway does not have a scientific definition but has been hypothesized to be an indefinite, non-structured, massless energy made up of electromagnetic radiations that is confined in the cytoskeletal network of a living cell. It is a coherent, imperceptible, uncontainable and recyclable support pathway, which uses energy to promulgate consciousness in the cell supporting its functions (Pereira 2015). The pathway currently provides a mechanistic explanation of the flow of consciousness within the body, but the intent of this paper is to provide an arduous explanation of non-local consciousness or disembodiment observed in near-death experiences. The paper hypothetically subsets the cell-soul pathway with the presence of two forms of consciousness, consistent with a recently developed model by Reddy (2016b): bodily consciousness, which manages functions only at cellular level, and functional consciousness, which is present in the body but can get disembodied and perform non-locally; the two forms of consciousness represent the overall state of consciousness. The non-locality of subjective experiences observed in near-death cases can be related to the realm of quantum physics – quantum entanglement between the two forms of consciousness that can demonstrate the capability of storing information holographically within the void or vacuum with the ability to create memories beyond the limitations of the brain and body.

We are living an extraordinary time in our civilization evolution, with the emergence of a fantastic holoinformational [24-31] quantum-holographic cosmovision wider than the quantum-relativistic paradigm of the beginning of the XX century [1-5]. Founded in Umesawa’s Quantum Field Theory [69-70] and non-local quantum information that permeates all levels of the Cosmos, exhaustively and definitelly proved in nowadays. The Second Quantum Physics Revolution of the last decade of the XX Century and the development of the Physics of Information and Quantum Information Theory [76,77,80] has demonstrated the quantum field is a Plenum, the “living void”, not a vacuum, full of quantum information and energy popping out of nothing, every billionth of trillionth of a second, self-organizing our universe, life and consciousness. It connects everything in the cosmos as a Unified Field of Consciousness [4,31] from quantum physics-chemistry, quantum biology and quantum mind, to quantum consciousness and quantum cosmology, all fine-tuned for the emergence of life and mind, showing that human evolution and the emergence of consciousness are the inevitable consequence of an intelligent holoinformational [24-25] universe. This holoinformational intelligent self-organizing field is continuously emerging from the informational plenum, that permeates all the Cosmos.

Historically, models of dreams and dreaming have been situated either in the physiology or the psychology of the dreamer, that is, the physical or psychological state of the dreamer is generally thought to be the ground from which dream imagery springs, either arbitrarily or by design. Few models, however, take contemporary models of the universe into account in describing the function and process of dreaming. This model of dreaming, which I will call the holo-net model, attempts to situate the dreamer and her dreams within Bohm and Pribram’s holographical models of the universe and brain.

The holo-net model is rooted in the connectionist net theory but differs in three essential ways: (a) the network of available imagery extends into the holomovement of the universal hologram, (b) dream images are highly individual, and (c) there is two-way communication between the consciousness of the dreamer and the holomovement.

In Digital Physics: The Universe Is a Programmed System, Ediho Lokanga presents an original and compelling approach to reality in which he argues that our universe is a programmed information system. A blend of physics and computer science, this presentation shows how a programmed universe emerges in a natural way. The author goes step-by-step through syntheses of different fields, empirical evidence, and general lines of reasoning to reveal a new way of understanding our universe in an entirely new light.

Lokanga argues that all living organisms, from humans and other animals to plants and bacteria are bio-computers: programmed systems of their own. They are embedded with physical hardware and invisible software. Each living organism is run on a biological program, or bioprogram. When using the programmed model of the organism, a cell in each living thing may be considered a biochip or biosoftware, and atoms register bits of information. For instance, when two atoms collide, each registers information that is then transformed and processed. Each atomic collision performs computation, which hints at the possible existence of an atomic program.

All physical objects are a combination of the basic chemical elements, which have been programmed to behave or produce certain substances when they combine. During physical, chemical, or biological processes, the outcome of any reaction is known in advance; during these reactions, the components, elements, or systems that are interacting “know” the results of what they should produce under different or specific conditions.

The laws, properties, and outcomes that take place within diverse environments are fixed in advance; nothing operates by chance or in an arbitrary manner. Evidence seems to indicate the existence of a highly computerized setup, with all the rules and laws that this situation implies. This has led Lokanga to suggest that the universe is indeed a programmed information system.

Inspired by the work of David Bohm on holograms and Karl Pribham on brain holography and combined with the concept of the hologram in quantum gravity, Dr. Ediho Lokanga shows how the universe itself is a hologram. The concept of holography suggests that we are all connected and linked in a way we never thought possible. The separateness is an illusion. The implications and consequences of this realization, go beyond theoretical physics. It touches the realm of social aspects with profound implications. The need for peace and dialogue amongst humans is stressed.

Recent advances in quantum theory, quantum holography, holonomic theory, quantum gravity, self-organization theory, and cellular automata theory, suggest that the entire universe is possibly holographically connected—an interlinked network of holograms, energy, and information. The holographic universe hypothesis teaches us that, during entanglement, there is no energy transmission between particles or objects, but there is only information. As a result, it appears that there is no violation of Einstein’s special theory of relativity.

Entanglement simply means that we are all connected and that this wholeness is not subject to spatial separation. The information of the entire universe is contained in each of its parts. Every living entity, inanimate or animate, is ultimately connected to this hologram. The whole is an emergent phenomenon of the parts. The quality of the whole is determined by the nature of its components or constituents. These parts or constituents reflect the nature of the universe, but the nature of the universe is also a reflection of us.

If everything is connected, the separateness is an illusion—the past, present, and future are intimately linked. For instance, the electrons spinning in my body are connected to the electrons spinning in someone else’s body thousands of miles away or on a star or planet located billions of light years away, etc. Thus, reality has a holographic structure. We should work together to end the suffering, discrimination, and poverty that we see throughout the developing nations, Europe, and America, where multinational companies have taken control of everything in the name of capitalism and are currently controlling the politico-social-economic sphere of life.

This book is a compilation of the work published by the present authors in various scientific journals mainly focused on understanding how quantum physics could decipher the experiences observed and reported during near-death and end-of-life situations. The authors claim that various theories and models proposed herein (though not propounding to be a complete one) are just an attempt to understand few aspects associated with such experiences connected to the phenomenon of death. They investigate the possible role of the quantum phenomenon in the occurrence of these events and call for a detailed scientific investigation to validate any hypotheses made.

The idea that consciousness has an integrative function has a long history. The late Francisco Varela and colleagues called it the" brainweb"(2002). Global Workspace theory suggests a fleeting memory capacity that enables access between brain functions that are otherwise separate.
