In this paper, we will be looking at 2 Peter 1:1-15 in which Peter seeks to deepen His audience's followership of Jesus. While he delivers a powerful seven-fold process of how to flourish in one's walk with God, he interestingly calls this exhortation a reminder. His desire is to stir up his readers by this seven-part insight, and by so doing models a leadership trait not commonly indexed in the leadership literature --he engages in the "ministry of reminding."

The purpose of this study was to examine the pre-college leadership skills of first-year students and examine differences by gender on eight distinct scales. The Student Leadership Outcomes Inventory defined these eight scales. A total of 296 participants were chosen to participate in the study from a population of all first-year students at a public university in Jordan. Participants reported moderate levels of leadership skills on all eight scales. However, differences by gender were found on the technology scale of the instrument. Overall, it would seem that students matriculate with some intact leadership skills. Administrators might use this baseline skill level when designing leadership development opportunities for students.

Researchers have discovered that service learning affects students' academic, personal, and social development. However, currently there is a gap in literature analyzing ways in which service learning affects students' perceived leadership skills. This study examined the effectiveness of service learning on the perceived leadership skills of 74 sport management undergraduate students at a mid-sized, Midwestern, public university using Kouzes' and Posner's Student Leadership Practices Inventory instrument, which examines leadership practices in five areas: Model the Way, Inspire a Shared Vision, Challenge the Process, Enable Others to Act, and Encourage the Heart. The results of this study may help faculty members and administrators to better understand the potential of utilizing service learning projects in their classrooms as a vehicle for their students to develop quality leadership practices. Recommendations for further research and practice are also discussed.

The human resource in any organization has heavy responsibility of talent management starting from the stage of recruitment to employee retention. Most of the HR theories of recruitment are Gen X and Gen Y specific-mostly talking of recruitment tests, personality tests, test of reasoning and the personal interviews. The traditional ways of employee engagement have been still practiced in most of the government and public sector organizations. But Gen Z is a different breed of youth, agile and active on the digital online spaces. It is natural that in the last few years progressive companies have been applying 'gaming concepts' in hiring of Gen Z candidates. PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC) is one of the top four sought after companies in the fields of commerce, accounting and auditing. The objective of the research is to explore the website engagement of Gen Z cohorts and the candidate engagement in talent acquisition through an experimental case evaluation of the HR of PwC Hungary. Multipoly, the recruitment tool of PwC is a big hit and occupies a niche for its own in the career page of PWC. Candidate engagement analysis on PwC website shows that the job seekers use less than 10 minutes in PWC site earlier. With Multipoly each candidate spent at least 90 minutes. The tool of the gamification for talent management used by PwC is being modeled by HR managers across industry to emulate in their own companies.

This opinion piece opens to the discussion that being digital is part of the technology skill in a leader’s basket of qualities rather than a distinctive leadership style—so-called digital leader. On the other hand, it emphasizes the significance of leadership qualities: Agility, Problem-Solving Efficiency, Adaptation, Respect, and Seeking-Different Perspectives as the other essential leadership elements in the path for excelling.

Both public and private schools in the country continue to experience rapid and regular changes in their curricula. These changes require teachers to possess the skills and knowledge to implement curricula. In addition, adopting new curricula requires teachers to feel confident in delivering and purpose of the materials they use to ensure accurate implementation. This study aimed to analyze the 21st Century Leadership Skills of school heads and personality development of teachers as determinants of effective pedagogy of teachers. The respondents of the study were 220 elementary school teachers in the seven public central elementary schools in the Division of San Pablo City. The study used descriptive correlational research design to identify the 21st-century leadership skills that predict effective pedagogical skills. The questionnaire via google form was used as a data-gathering instrument. The statistical tools used in the study included frequency, percent, mean, standard deviation, Pearson product-moment-correlation coefficient, and multiple regression analysis to analyze the data. The salient findings are summarized as follows: Both the perceived 21st-century leadership skills of the school heads in terms of flexibility and adaptability and the teacher's personality development were significant predictors of the teachers' strategies and techniques as a measure of their effective pedagogy skills. Result also shows that learners need to be capable of constantly adapting and constantly learning and growing, of positioning themselves and repositioning themselves in a fast-changing world. The study suggested that the kind of teaching strategies needed today in the 21st century requires teachers to be high-level knowledge workers who constantly advance their professional knowledge and that of their profession by continuing to develop themselves by continuous studying and continuous learning.

Leadership traditionally centred around the idea of a “person in charge” leading subordinates / team members (i.e. vertical leadership), however recent literature indicates that leadership may be shared in a team by assigning the leadership role to the person with the most appropriate knowledge, skills and abilities needed by the project at any specific time (i.e. shared leadership). Shared leadership does however, not substitute vertical leadership – the two concepts are extremes on a continuum and complement each other. Although the leadership responsibility formally rests with the project manager, it is regularly assumed by team members to lead temporarily in order to solve a technical or other issue, and then handed back to the project manager. A contemporary stream of literature defines this process as balanced leadership.

This thesis investigates how different project types and project life cycle phases may influence the choice of leadership style. It also confirms that an appropriate balance between vertical and shared leadership improves the likelihood of project management success. A new Leadership Style Model is proposed and the thesis contributes to answering the main research question:

How does the leadership style influence perceived project management success?

To answer the above over-arching question, three sub-questions were formulated and addressed in Chapters 3 to 6:

 How do different project types (pace, complexity, novelty and technological uncertainty) influence the balance on the continuum between vertical and
shared leadership?
 How do different project life-cycle phases (pre-execution, execution and post-execution) influence the balance between vertical and shared leadership?
 How does an appropriate balance between vertical and shared leadership influence the likelihood of perceived project management success?

A web-based, self-administered questionnaire was distributed to people working on South African projects, and 313 complete responses were received. The collected
data were analysed by applying hypothesis testing techniques and cross-tabulation.

The study confirms that an appropriate balance between vertical and shared leadership styles improves the likelihood of project management success. The more
complex, and the higher the levels of technology employed, the more shared the leadership style should be. On the other hand, the higher paced projects require a more vertical leadership style. Respondents indicated that highly novel projects callfor a more vertical leadership style – this contradicted the hypothesised leadership balance -possible reasons for this deviation are provided in Chapters 4 and 6.

A further finding of the study is that during the post-execution phase, the leadership style should move towards more shared leadership than in prior stages. However,
respondents were uncertain of the influence of the other project phases (pre-execution and execution) on the appropriate balance of leadership style. Various
reasons for this uncertainty are provided in Chapters 5 and 6.

The thesis presents a new perspective on the influence of project type and project life cycle phases on the appropriate balance between vertical and shared leadership. Furthermore, it gives insights into the influence of an appropriate balance of leadership on the likelihood of perceived project management success.

The Project Leadership Style (PLS) Model presented in this thesis, explains how the variables of project types and project life cycle phases relate to different leadership
styles (vertical and shared leadership), and it also guides the practitioner to selecting appropriate leadership styles for specific project situations.

The main endeavor of this study was to explore and uncover the correlations between Leadership competencies and productive performance in project management. The aspiration was to shed light on key leadership attributes critical for project success and to underline the significance of implementing these competencies in a project environment. This research study begins with a focus on the value of general Project leadership and elaborates on the effectives of leadership skills of a Project manager. In today’s world of multitasking and constant development, leaders are a fundamental component for any organization to succeed. Leaders take on large responsibilities and move organizations forward.

This research underlines that, in the field of project management, leadership is typically more crucial, due to the involvement and constant integration of multiple projects in organizations. The unique demand and integration of projects creates a need of having qualified project managers, in particular leaders that bring a set of positive attributes to the project and the organization. In principle, the research model along with an insightful survey has been developed applying relevant qualitative and quantitative technicalities to further support and validate the data that was explored and evaluated in this research thesis. Within the confinements of these studies, the objective was to uncover the key constructive factors that project managers ought to exercise to achieve effectiveness in project milestones. It was found that the dimensions of Leadership have different effects on the Project constraints. Each dimension has its positive and negative effects and should be carefully monitored for ensuring success of the Project.

Η διερευνητική αυτή μελέτη προσεγγίζει τον αθλητισμό στις προοπτικές της θεώρησης περί  κοινωνικού κεφαλαίου, που τελευταία εμπερικλείει στα σημαινόμενά του και τις επιταγές
της έμφυλης δράσης. εξετάζει την εκπροσώπηση των γυναικών στην κοινωνική περιοχή του αθλητισμού, και ειδικά  τη μετάβαση από τον αθλητισμό στην επιχειρηματικότητα. Επισημαίνεται η γυναικεία συμμετοχή ως πηγή κοινωνικού κεφαλαίου, που υπό συνθήκες μπορεί να διευκολύνει
ποικίλες διαδικασίες κοινωνικής ενσωμάτωσης και να συμβάλλει στην εξάλειψη του  φαινομένου της έμφυλης κόπωσης (gender fatigue). This study was conducted to examine whether a leadership training program increases university students' perception of leadership skills. Female students, like their male counterparts, have to play a central role in the economy of the country, regardless of the existing social constraints. Therefore, they need to be equipped with leadership skills in order to ensure that they are capable of making authentic changes in society. The survey included 42 components with seven subscales that were used to measure the following leadership skills: communication, planning, teamwork, decision-making, controlling, motivation and evaluation. The sample consisted of 36 female students who were randomly selected to participate in a two-day leadership training program at the University of Dammam. A questionnaire was distributed at the end of the program. This questionnaire was applied with the objective of estimating the students' perception of the importance of leadership-related skills. The results demonstrate that this program significantly develops participants' perceptions of leadership skills, as t(35) = 7.81, p < 0.05, regardless of their area of academic specialization, their history of participation in organized social activities, any previous leadership roles that they may have held, and any previous leadership training that they may have received. The authors recommend that this study be replicated on a larger sample.

The purpose of this paper is to shine a light on the relatively unexplored phenomenon of self-love, and to create a conscious understanding of what it is and the powerful role that it could play at the heart of leadership, particularly in improving employee engagement. In offering a contribution that may help leaders to evolve their leadership, this work seeks to show leaders that it is possible to enhance their leadership with the energy of love, by bringing in love to the self first. This research was exploratory and qualitative in nature using a hybrid interpretive-phenomenological and social constructionist approach. Self-love was defined and deconstructed based on an extensive literature review and semi-structured interviews with 24 cross-functional leaders and leadership advisors, psychologists and coaches. Selflove was found to be fundamental to leadership and organizations by 100% of the participants, with a pervasive impact that includes the structure and quality of decision-making, the ability to inspire high levels of commitment and productivity from employees, and the ability to foster a culture of innovation. In addition, self-love is found to be at the heart of authenticity, servant leadership, empathy, care for employees and the ability to listen which link to leadership traits that have been found to encourage employee engagement. A definition of self-love and Constructs of Self-Love Model emerged from the research. Self-love is a rare, but vitally important, phenomenon, with a need for greater understanding of the concept.

Management of public secondary schools has always been a serious issue to stakeholders including those in government and the civil society. ‘A school is as good as its Board of Management’. This is what prompted on this study, which sought to critically analyze the impact of political dynamics on management of public secondary schools in Kenya. The main goals were to critically analyze and find out the impact of Political Dynamics and how it influences the criteria used in the selection process, objectives of the ad-hoc nominating committee and the personal attributes of the so nominated members on the management of public secondary schools. The study made use of both qualitative survey methods and critical analysis design The study was able to establish that most Boards of management were either based on clanism, ethnicism, cronyism, nepotism or political and religious inclinations. All these factors had a significant influence on how schools were run and the overall effectiveness of the school boards of management. This study explored new strategies of putting in place an effective school board of management which focuses more on managerial and leadership skills rather than clanism, nepotism, cronyism and other political dynamics. This would enhance efficiency and effectiveness in an effort to realize the school's goals and objectives. The study recommended that prudent measures be put in place to ensure that only people of integrity, excellent management and leadership skills with a commitment to serve the schools’ interests are nominated into the board of management. Those selected into the board be taken through proper induction and continuous capacity building in leadership and management. The study also recommended that the ad – hoc nominating committee be transferred into an oversight board that walks along the board of management and continuously mentors, monitors, trains and evaluates the management board.

This article presents a proposal that aims to develop and testing effect of adventure-based learning module on fundamental statistics achievement, critical thinking and leadership skills. This study will employ a quantitative approach research using a quasi-experimental pre and post-test non-equivalent control group design.The sample for this study will be selected randomly at one Malaysia Teacher Training Institute and will be involved semester two students in Program Persediaan Ijazah Sarjana Muda Perguruan.  Three main instruments will be used in this study such as The Fundamental Statistic Achievement Test, Critical Thinking Test and Leadership Assessment Questionnaire.  The sample will be divided into two groups: the experimental groups will undergo an adventure-based learning approach while control groups remain to the conventional approach. The results of this study are expected to provide an alternative teaching approach that can be implemented by lecturers, teachers and educators in practicing the teaching and learning for the 21st century. Globalisation and disruptive changes have made the organizations realize the need and importance of leadership in turbulent times. The frenetic pace of change, significant growth in technology, scarcity of resources and changing business models pose immense challenges to the organisations to keep competitive. One critical factor for the success of organisations in such times is the capability of the leader at the helm of affairs. This paper is based on findings from Consultancy Service industry and Information Technology Enabled Services (ITES) industry, which were evaluated through appropriate statistical techniques (surveys and factor analysis) to find out the critical individual capabilities one should build and inculcate to be an effective leader in turbulent times. The findings suggest that to effectively lead through turbulence a leader will need to be authentic and set directions for others in the team. The leader who can adapt, use analytical and innovative thinking during turbulent times and avoid negative approach through excellent communication will lead a more productive group of followers. This study will be of significance to practicing leaders, researchers, and development experts who are involved in exploring different dimensions of leadership in times of complexity and turbulence.

In a world of supercapitalism, the tensions between business and public interests are expected to rise, thereby calling corporations to assume new roles in society. In response to this trend, corporations will be in demand of an innovative kind of leadership exercised at all levels by a new breed of ethical, reflective and creative decision-makers. Among the qualifications involved in developing the leadership skills of these decision-makers, the MBA stands out as a world’s leading one. However, empirical research conducted in English and French business schools indicates that MBA curricula are not typically designed to provide participants with a broader understanding of leadership that could fully engage them in their learning experiences. To improve this situation, MBA lecturers and curriculum developers need to broaden their educational agenda by means of a reconceptualisation of leadership studies. Drawn from the empirical findings mentioned above and the work of Barnett on criticality, this paper proposes a pedagogical framework for leadership studies that involves three levels of leadership criticality combined with the three domains of critical beings. The objective is to provide a basis for the development of appropriate learning activities that will encourage MBA participants to strive towards developing themselves as critical beings namely, to think and act in such a way that the societal imprint of corporations will be more ‘attuned’ with the ideals of democracy, social justice, and sustainable development.

The role of trust and leadership in the global marketing driven organization is discussed in this paper. The author analyzed the essence of trust, levels of trust, performance effects of trust and challenges of trust. Further, the characteristics of leadership is described as well as the essence of leadership. Current challenges facing this topic are analyzed and trends for the near future are indicated. Moreover, the author discusses the main impacts which will drive leadership in the future.

This paper presents an analysis of the connection between management and governance. Management is a business function that has been entrusted with providing leadership support to organisations' resources to realise strategic goals and objectives. In contemporary management, however, another function of leadership has been realised which is governance. Experts have identified that while the two have distinctive responsibilities, collaboration can be effective in realising value for the stakeholders. The paper has examined governance and management from an explicit perspective and then identified the boundaries, connections, and issues between them. The study has found out that although the management and governance have differed in responsibilities to the organisation, they both are responsible for leadership. Notably, however, it has also been identified that since it is the role of the governing body to monitor and guide the management, management issues such as impression management arise. The paper has adopted the content analysis research design which involves studying literature and identifying patterns to draw a conclusion. Most polytechnic develop their strategy around core competencies, especially regarding how to coordinate skills required in the industry. Adaptive leadership is needed in the lectures in polytechnic. The lecturer's competencies are credited for the success or failure of polytechnic's strategy development. The three types of leaders are as follows: (1) innovator, (2) implement or and (3) pacifier. Lectures in polytechnic search new ideas and produce the improved units in the potential industry as behavior of adaptive leadership for competencies development.

Applied research in organizations leads the author to highlight 18 traits which are significant to varying extents in the most influential leaders today. Of these, seven need special attention because failure to be consistent in any of these seven 'Trust Factor' traits may lead to long or permanent damage to relationships and the performance of the team.

This paper aims to provide insight into MBA lecturers' curriculum interests in relation to the topic of leadership. Central to this inquiry is the exploration of MBA lecturers' beliefs and expectations of leadership learning. An attempt is made to categorise the purpose of leadership study in five English and French MBAs by investigating lecturers’ assumptions about what counts as a leadership success in the corporate world. Guided by the work of Habermas on human knowledge interests, the main value of this inquiry is to provide research-based evidence of the prevailing interests in the teaching of leadership in MBA curricula. The analysis reveals that, although driven by different pedagogical motives, the majority of MBA lecturers are not committed to providing participants with a full understanding of leadership that might serve people and society beyond mere business ends.

When considering the qualifications for being a pastor, the primary biblical texts of 1 Timothy 3 and Titus 1 demonstrate the base levels of character and competence. But beyond that, what are the most important skills and qualities for an effective pastor? Much of the work in pastoral skills focuses on the management aspects or was developed using a previous generation as the research base. This study examined twenty-one qualities and skills for their importance for effective pastoral ministry. The qualities and skills for this study came from the recent book "Dream Teams: Building and Leading Winning Ministry Teams," written by the study author. A total of 441 participants were surveyed, who are in these roles in local churches: 229 lead pastors, 63 staff members, and 149 laypersons. From their input, several observations were made based on the demographic variables. Also, participants were asked to add any skills or qualities they felt were important. From those responses, one additional skill and four qualities were considered for future addition to the list. A total of five conclusions and six application points are provided for local churches, pastors, and seminaries.

Background: Severe traumatic brain injury (TBI) has become a global health problem and causes a vast worldwide societal burden. However, distinct mechanisms between acute and subacute stages have not been systemically revealed. The present study aimed to identify differentially expressed proteins in severe TBI from the acute to subacute phase. Methods: Sixty Sprague Dawley (SD) rats were randomly divided into sham surgery and model groups. The severe TBI models were induced by the controlled cortical impact (CCI) method. We evaluated the neurological deficits through the modified neurological severity score (NSS). Meanwhile, H&E staining and immunofluorescence were performed to assess the injured brain tissues. The protein expressions of the hippocampus on the wounded side of CCI groups and the same side of Sham groups were analyzed by the tandem mass tag-based (TMT) quantitative proteomics on the third and fourteenth days. Then, using the gene ontology (GO), Kyoto encyclopedia of genes and genomes (KEGG), and protein-protein interaction (PPI), the shared and stage-specific differentially expressed proteins (DEPs) were screened, analyzed, and visualized. Eventually, target proteins were further verified by Western blotting (WB). Results: In the severe TBI, the neurological deficits always exist from the acute stage to the subacute stage, and brain parenchyma was dramatically impaired in either period. Of the significant DEPs identified, 312 were unique to the acute phase, 76 were specific to the subacute phase, and 63 were shared in both. Of the 375 DEPs between Sham-a and CCI-a, 240 and 135 proteins were up-regulated and down-regulated, respectively. Of 139 DEPs, 84 proteins were upregulated, and 55 were downregulated in the Shams and CCI-s. Bioinformatics analysis revealed that the differential pathophysiology across both stages. One of the most critical shared pathways is the complement and coagulation cascades. Notably, three pathways associated with gastric acid secretion, insulin secretion, and thyroid hormone synthesis were only enriched in the acute phase.

Globalizations highly supply the employees with good technical skills to the employers. Employers are more selective and no longer satisfied with the employees that just has technical or operational skills. The main reason for unemployment of fresh nurse graduates in Malaysia has been pointed out by the media and employers which is lack of soft skills. The purpose of this research conducted is to study whether Fresh nurse graduates’ unemployment is caused by lack of soft skills. A proposed research framework has been created through past researchers. The methodology of this current research also has been justified accordingly.

A leader isn’t just one who leads, he is one who guides, directs, and empowers. A leader is the soul of a team. He gives a shapeless team, a form, and a vision. This is why leaders are so celebrated in this world, because without them there would be no moving forward and there would be no success.

The purpose of this study was to examine the pre-college leadership skills of first-year
students and examine differences by gender on eight distinct scales. The Student
Leadership Outcomes Inventory defined these eight scales. A total of 296 participants
were chosen to participate in the study from a population of all first-year students at a
public university in Jordan. Participants reported moderate levels of leadership skills on
all eight scales. However, differences by gender were found on the technology scale of
the instrument. Overall, it would seem that students matriculate with some intact
leadership skills. Administrators might use this baseline skill level when designing
leadership development opportunities for students.

The role of trust and leadership in the global marketing driven organization is discussed in this paper. The author analyzed the essence of trust, levels of trust, performance effects of trust and challenges of trust. Further, the characteristics of leadership is described as well as the essence of leadership. Current challenges facing this topic are analyzed and trends for the near future are indicated. Moreover, the author discusses the main impacts which will drive leadership in the future.

El artículo pretende indagar en la importancia del papel de un DirCom para empresas privadas y entidades públicas. En primer lugar introduce el concepto de comunicación aplicado a la empresa. En segundo lugar, profundiza en la necesidad de un DirCom como responsable de imagen y visibilidad de empresa o entidad. En tercer lugar, explica las habilidades deseables de un DirCom. Globalisation and disruptive changes have made the organizations realize the need and importance of leadership in turbulent times. The frenetic pace of change, significant growth in technology, scarcity of resources and changing business models pose immense challenges to the organisations to keep competitive. One critical factor for the success of organisations in such times is the capability of the leader at the helm of affairs. This paper is based on findings from Consultancy Service industry and Information Technology Enabled Services (ITES) industry, which were evaluated through appropriate statistical techniques (surveys and factor analysis) to find out the critical individual capabilities one should build and inculcate to be an effective leader in turbulent times. The findings suggest that to effectively lead through turbulence a leader will need to be authentic and set directions for others in the team. The leader who can adapt, use analytical and innovative thinking during turbulent times and avoid negative approach through excellent communication will lead a more productive group of followers. This study will be of significance to practicing leaders, researchers, and development experts who are involved in exploring different dimensions of leadership in times of complexity and turbulence.

Effective interpersonal skills represent a major success factor in almost every aspect of the business world today. To have a competitive advantage, new graduates must master those skills with limited or even non-existing experience – an area where most business schools face severe breach between their curriculum and company expectations. This article looks at bridging the interpersonal skill gap through the implementation of relevant internship experience for students. Some of the skills been looked at are negotiation skills, effective communication skills, leadership skills, training and development. The approach incorporates collaborated final assessment of student knowledge and skills from both educational institution and business entity. The result of the research aims at creating an objective tool of assessment criteria for evaluating the adaptivity of interpersonal skills, acquired by students in their Business Administration Program.
