Abstract
Information and communication technologies
(ICTs) are growing exponentially.
Technological applications are taking place
almost in every domain of life, affecting
individuals and societies at global level.
Artificial intelligence (AI) has an important
part of these impacts. That act is not one sided.
Society and technology have two way
relationship. Technology is developed,
produced and used by human beings. It is
expected to be beneficial for humanity and to
operate in concordance with humans’ aims,
needs and values. However, there are issues
about human values and artificial intelligence.
One of these appears as the need for a general
agreement on the basic human values. By
accepting the two way relationship between
society and technology and the fact that
technology is created and used by human
beings, these values are expected to be
embedded in AI. Another issue is about
trusting that AI will function according to
those values. Nevertheless, one of the concerns
of this paper is about the claim that AI cannot
possess human values identical to human. A
third outstanding argument is related to
maintaining control over AI in order to prevent
AI from self-replication and creating a world
which fails to be humane anymore.

This paper considers connections between discussions of transgender and transhumanism. Using concepts developed in discussions of transgender studies, the paper defines cis-humanism as affirming the human condition albeit with awareness of the complexity of the concept of humanity and humanism. Cis-humanism affirms mortality, finitude, and the natural givenness of life and world—in contrast with the transhuman aspiration to transform and overcome these limitations. The paper connects some of the problems of the Anthropocene to technological hubris and the quest for transcending the human and human nature in a way that is not grounded in the fact of human mortality.

In a world where Earth continues to expand, creating vast oceans and submerging most of its land, humanity has adapted to life underwater. Once a planet dominated by land, Earth has transformed into a water world, where towering underwater cities now flourish beneath the surface. Advanced technology and biological evolution have allowed life to thrive in these submerged environments, as vast caverns and ecosystems deep within the planet offer refuge from the relentless expansion. This future is a testament to human resilience, and the beauty of life evolving in a new, aquatic era.

The study methods of history and religion within traditional academia are sadly lacking and are obsolete. The problem is that most within academia are either still now unaware of that or they are trying to ignore this fact. Right from the beginning of the creation of an academia being available to the general public, these two areas of 'study' were a main part of it; it was based upon assumption, which was rarely, if ever questioned. Most of those going into academia did so for the purpose of making a living in religion, politics or by teaching history. Many went into academia not to learn, but to find items backing what they already believed (that is, with biases and not with objectivity). The institutions were in it to make money, so they didn't care about any of those things, but rather maintaining the appearance of being legitimate. Academia then was mainly comprised of those who were either religious or who were not, but knew they could advance in politics or make a good living from religion. Very little of that has changed. The original purpose of academia was never to get at the actual truth regarding history and religion; in fact, it was actually set up in the way it was to prevent that very thing. But getting at the truth must now be its purpose in those two areas, in order for it to be a truly legitimate academia.

Project Hyperion is a conceptual study of a hypothetical interstellar generation ship, commenced in 2013. Since 2023, the Hyperion team has been working on organizing an interdisciplinary design competition on the habitat of the generation ship. Design competitions have proven to be an effective means of generating a variety of designs to explore a novel design space. The highly interdisciplinary nature of generation ship habitats, spanning architecture, engineering, and social sciences makes it a particularly challenging design problem.

Artificial intelligence (AI) is transforming many facets of our lives and has become an essential component of the modern world. Its impact changes how we work, communicate, and engage with the world around us. It penetrates economies, cultures, and industries. The ability of AI to analyse massive volumes of data, spot patterns, and make decisions-often more quickly and accurately than humans-has a significant influence. AI technology enables virtual assistants like Siri and Alexa in today's connected world. These assistants simplify daily chores like creating reminders, making appointments, and delivering quick information. Furthermore, by predicting tastes and providing customised material, AI algorithms provide personalised recommendations on streaming services like Netflix and Spotify, improving user experiences. AI is revolutionising sectors like healthcare, banking, manufacturing, and transportation, in addition to consumer applications. AI systems are used in the medical field to evaluate medical imaging in order to help with diagnosis, forecast disease outbreaks, and customise treatment regimens according to patient information. AI-driven algorithms in finance are very accurate in detecting fraudulent activity, assessing credit risk, and optimising trading tactics. Similar to this, AI-powered robots in manufacturing automate tedious jobs, boost output, and increase product quality.

El propósito principal de este artículo es presentar un análisis crítico sobre algunos de los planteamientos epistemológicos y filosóficos más destacados que se han elaborado desde el transhumanismo contemporáneo en relación con la actividad anatómico-funcional del cerebro y a la naturaleza de la consciencia. Desde ese punto de vista, se pretende considerar si el modelo hermenéutico tecnológico-instrumental que se promueve desde los planteamientos de la corriente transhumanista supone una variante comprensiva alternativa a la hora de dilucidar la complejidad ontoepistemológica de la consciencia. Para ello, se lleva a cabo una exploración sobre el modo en que el transhumanismo se ha centrado en ciertos campos tecnocientíficos para desarrollar una prospectiva concreta asociada a las potencialidades cognitivas del ser humano. En ese sentido, se toma en consideración ciertos avances concretos de la neurotecnología de vanguardia y de la neuromodulación artificial (implantología neural, dispositivos neuromórficos, reprogramación neuronal, cultivo controlado en laboratorio de cerebroides, etc.), así como de la inteligencia artificial. De este análisis se desprende un profundo escepticismo en torno a la posibilidad de que el enfoque transhumanista ofrezca un modelo prometedor para abordar exitosamente el antiguo problema de la relación mente-cerebro, ya que, pese al atractivo de algunas de sus especulaciones más audaces en torno a la condición bioantropológica del hombre y de la ontología de lo real, ha optado por actualizar una visión reduccionista y fisicalista de la mente humana.

The main purpose of this reflection paper is to present a critical analysis of some of the most prominent epistemological and philosophical ideas developed by contemporary transhumanism in relation to the anatomical-functional activity of the brain and the nature of consciousness. From this point of view, this paper considers whether the technological-instrumental hermeneutic model promoted by the transhumanist movement is an alternative, comprehensive variant to elucidate the onto-epistemological complexity of consciousness. To this end, this paper explores the way in which transhumanism has focused on certain techno-scientific fields in order to develop a concrete prospective associated with the cognitive potentialities of the human being. In this sense, it discusses certain specific advances in cutting-edge neurotechnology and artificial neuromodulation (neural implants, neuromorphic devices, neuronal reprogramming, controlled laboratory culture of cerebroids, etc.), as well as artificial intelligence. This analysis results in deep scepticism as to whether the transhumanist approach offers a promising model for successfully tackling the age-old problem of the mind-brain relationship because, despite the appeal of some of its boldest speculations about the bio-anthropological condition of man and the ontology of the real, it has chosen to update a reductionist and physicalist view of the human mind.

This article is more than a collation of questions and answers. It provides a record of inquiry into an emergent generative discourse. The format for this inquiry is a series of twenty questions posed to the field of apithology. Contributions to this inquiry came from participants within the community of practice, personal questions arising from an initial engagement with the field and publicly from others with no prior research involvement. The answers recorded reflect the authentic attempt at a comprehensive response to the quoted inquiry. The purpose of this collation is to share learnings discovered from this process with the wider practice community. This set of questions also provides a future reference point on a period of transition from disclosure to discovery in a maturing field of research practice. One feature of significance is how attention is given to the structure of the questions asked. This analysis can reveal almost as much as the answers given in response. The observation made is that by the framing of our questions we reveal aspects of our generative conceptions and the anticipations sought by answers expected. The process of collation evidences how the apithology research community might discover more about co-generative discovery from within the practice of humanity inquiry. Further reflections on the process of inquiry and commonalities found in the generated responses are provided in the conclusion section.

According to this version, the transition from robust to gracile humans during that period is attributable to selective breeding rather than natural selection, rendered possible by the exponential rise of culturally guided volitional choices. The rapid human neotenization coincides with the development of numerous somatic and neural detriments and pathologies. Uniformitarian reasoning based on ontogenic homology suggests that the cognitive abilities of hominins are consistently underrated in the unstable orthodoxies of Pleistocene archaeology. A scientifically guided review establishes developmental trajectories defining recent changes in the human genome and its expressions, which then form the basis of attempts to extrapolate from them into the future. It is suggested that continuing and perhaps accelerating unfavorable genetic changes to the human species, rather than existential threats such as massive disasters, pandemics, or astrophysical events, may become the ultimate peril of humanity.

Among climate researchers, in climate policy and in the media, a growing impatience with the virtues of democracy, as well as an urgent reference to the exceptional circumstances of our ecological situation, can be discerned. However, it is no longer only the deep chasm between knowledge and action that is bemoaned, but democracy as such is identified as the culprit. Democracy, one can sum up the skeptical observations, is unsuited to respond effectively to the challenges facing politics and society in the face of the consequences of climate change. The doubts about democracy are based on a number of observations that are to be critically examined.

This conversation represents an in-depth analysis of the growing presence of Artificial Intelligence in all aspects of human life and society in general, the way it is understood and interpreted by two chatbots.

This collection of questions and answers results from an exercise undertaken during the fourth practitioner's apithologue. Questions were put to discover what was known and unknown about apithology at this time. Contributions to the inquiry came from practitioners within the community of practice, others involved in initial inquires into apithology and from those with merely a passing interest. The answers recorded reflect initial responses only, which are intended to generate more questions, more dialogue and new iterations of the answers. In this way, they provide a historical snapshot of both this emerging discipline and its practice of inquiry.

RESUMEN El presente artículo tiene como objetivo principal resaltar un campo que está atravesando un desarrollo desmesurado en los tiempos modernos y como secundarios las múltiples aplicaciones e interpretaciones que se derivan de su empleo. Así pues, con el tiempo nacieron los sistemas inteligentes que poco a poco fueron ingresando a los diversos campos del quehacer cotidiano para transformar a las sociedades como eje principal que se requería para tratar de desarrollar al mundo y ver a su entorno desde una nueva perspectiva que forma parte del ser humano de hoy e indudablemente más en el futuro. En pocas décadas el mundo ha visto cómo sus estilos de vida cambiaron vertiginosamente para convertirnos, se quiera o no, en seres dependientes en alguna forma de las tecnologías inteligentes. I would like to discuss the role of artificial intelligence (AI) in shaping the future of humanity. While the focus of this conference is the ecological crisis facing our world, it's important to recognize that AI is an integral part of this challenge. AI has the potential to help us overcome the ecological crisis or, alternatively, exacerbate it significantly.

As we move forward, AI may redefine our understanding of the ecological system, which has traditionally consisted only of organic life forms. The emergence of inorganic life forms or agents could represent a major shift in the history of our planet, which has spanned over 4 billion years.

Fears of AI have been present since the dawn of the computer age in the mid-20th century, giving rise to science fiction classics such as The Terminator and The Matrix. However, these scenarios have not typically been taken seriously in academic, scientific, and political debates. Such scenarios often assume that AI must first become sentient and proficient in navigating the physical world before posing a significant threat to humanity.

Existential risks are those that threaten the entire future of humanity. Many theories of value imply that even relatively small reductions in net existential risk have enormous expected value. Despite their importance, issues surrounding human-extinction risks and related hazards remain poorly understood. In this article, I clarify the concept of existential risk and develop an improved classification scheme. I discuss the relation between existential risks and basic issues in axiology, and show how existential risk reduction (via the maxipok rule) can serve as a strongly action-guiding principle for utilitarian concerns. I also show how the notion of existential risk suggests a new way of thinking about the ideal of sustainability.

With the developments within AI-driven dialogue systems, I have decided to initiate a research project that deals with the future of AI and how to approach these developments philosophically. In doing so, I have posed some guiding questions:

The first part of the study offers an overview of selected texts by male and female authors who deal with the issue of the climate crisis. The text is an insight into several research disciplines (philosophy, sociology, psychoanalysis, anthropology, critical theory of art and visual culture, geology, climatology, politics, economics...), which are aimed at reflecting on the current problems of the Anthropocene as a new geological epoch. Key terms related to environmental issues are explained in relation to relevant works by philosophers, sociologists, anthropologists, psychoanalysts, art theorists, environmental historians, activists and economists, e.g. Anthropocene (Bruno Latour, T. J. Demos, Jussi Parikka), Capitalocene and critique of neoliberal capitalism (Jason W. Moore, Naomi Klein, Mark Fisher), post-anthropocentrism and posthumanism (Rosi Braidotti), ecosophy (Félix Guattari), abolition of boundaries between nature and society (Ulrich Beck), anesthetization vs. affective turn (Wolfgang Welsch, Heather Houser) and so on. The second part of the study focuses on theoretical reflection on the impacts of the climate crisis in contemporary visual arts on the international scene and in Slovakia through a sample of selected works by eight artists. It focuses on a more detailed analysis and interpretation of generous locally specific projects in urban environments and non-narrative video installations/ video projections. The selected themes represent three problem areas: Nature in the context of sociocultural relations (Roman Ondák, Klaus Littmann); The Proteus capacity of water and ecological threats (Olafur Eliasson, Roni Horn, John Akomfrah); and Extractivism and its impacts on the climate crisis (Ursula Biemann, APART team, Oliver Ressler). The future of humanity is being shaped by the migration crisis and the rapid advancement of artificial intelligence (AI). Migration has the potential to alter demographics and create cultural exchange, but also displacement and conflict. AI is changing the nature of work, creating new jobs and threatening traditional ones, and has the potential to bring people together or exacerbate inequalities. To ensure a prosperous future for all, policies must be developed to support the integration of migrants and address the impact of AI on the workforce and communities. Collaboration between governments, businesses, and civil society is necessary to share the benefits of AI and address the challenges posed by migration and AI.

Combining the perspectives of a social activist and a psychedelic philosopher drawing upon their most recent books – "Choosing Earth" and "LSD and the Mind of the Universe" – Duane Elgin and Chris Bache discuss the escalating global crisis and its potential for catalyzing a profound evolutionary pivot for humanity.

The paper is focused on the assessment of the environmental impacts of transport infrastructure and individual types of transport using the life cycle assessment method. The paper contains a description of the basic terminology of the problem related to transport, the environment and methods of environmental impact assessment. The paper contains analysis on monitoring carbon dioxide emissions from a global perspective as well as from a regional perspective focused on Slovakia. The aim of the paper is to create a proposal for the assessment of environmental impacts of transport infrastructure, in the form of specification of areas of assessment for selected types of transport with a focus on carbon dioxide emissions. Using the knowledge and principles of the life cycle method, a proposal for relevant indicators and a proposal for a comprehensive assessment of the impacts of selected types of transport, focused on carbon dioxide emissions, is created in the paper

Artificial intelligence is the highest form of human development and sound outcome of human conscience till the date. But the very development seems to be devastating to human future ahead and has been heavily projected accordingly. More than it may be to decay and destroy the world, the negative and chilling views on the prospective damages of AI that scholars are percolating to public are costing many times on humans; and that is plunging human mindset into irreparable pessimism and negativity. This article explores the way that AI is being depressingly explored and investigated to browbeat public. In addition, this write-up highlights the serious lacuna, which the advanced academic engagement has still grossly failed to fill up, of a great deal in course of mainstreaming views and discussions for noble cause of human development and societal well-belling. Further, it unmasks the dire need in making constructive, encouraging and optimistic mind-set building academic pursuits and writings then makes an alarming call to the all prominent scholars to engage with due compliance of it. Method and Hypothesis As a doctrinal qualitative research based on extensive survey of secondary data and literature, methodologically, with adoption of paradigm of descriptive interpretation, this research hypothesizes that the discussions and discourses over AI are biased, hold a serious lacuna thus need to be reconstructed to make it balanced and build better world than to browbeat people.

There will come a time when the seemingly extinguished embers of the oppressed, weak, sickened, poor, and struggling common folk are rekindled. Their intense will to prevail over the oppressors will be either met with mass destruction, or if open communication and human
compassion prevails, an improved civilization. The actions taken will not be defended by religious zealots, governments proclaiming reasons of national security, or other deceptive and hypocritical means. The actions will be principally taken from a desire to exist among the most
basic conditions of human decency - peace.

Este articulo presenta la vida de Jay Wright Forrester, profesor emerito del MIT, cuyas contribuciones abarcan multiples areas como la ingenieria electrica, los sistemas computacionales y la logistica. Fue un genio cuyo legado sento las tendencias de nuestra sociedad actual. Tristemente el Profesor Jay W. Forrester fallecio el 16 de noviembre de 2016 a los 98 anos de edad.

Parapsychism is a physiological resource of the human being, thus natural, capable of being developed just like other skills, such as walking and talking. This article, based on this premise, intends to demonstrate the numerous practical applications of different parapsychic resources in space exploration, their risks and potentialities: as a cognitive communication and maintenance tool for the physical and mental health of astronauts. To achieve this goal the techniques and theoretical content will be presented based on the Consciential Paradigm, a reference for scientific research in Projectiology and Conscientiology, both sciences proposed in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, respectively in the years 1986 and 1994-by the Professor Doctor in Aesthetics, Physician and psychic Waldo Vieira (1932-2015). The parapsychism is the set of advanced perceptions, due to the natural or voluntary occurrence of altered states of consciousness, beyond the 5 basic senses of the human body. One of the premises of Projectiology is the capacity of consciousness to manifest itself in the physical and extraphysical dimensions, using 4 energetic bodies for this purpose. This set of bodies is called holosoma, and its constitution is didactically described: soma (the human bodythe only physical); energosoma (the energetic body is the set of consciential energies that binds the emotional body to the human body-bioenergies); psychosoma (the body of emotions is a perfect copy of the human body (soma) and mentalsoma (mental body; the extraphysical body of self-discernment of the consciousness). During our intraphysical existence (the biological life) we have these 4 bodies united in energetic resonance. Parapsychism is nothing more than the use of sensory resources, which are physiological, of the 3 extra-physical bodies, when they are temporarily, partially or totally, disassociated, from the physical body (the most complex of these phenomena is the lucid projection (a classic example is: the near-death experience). Considering that the knowledge and practical mastery of such resources must be included in the training of astronauts, new experiments, now using the knowledge of Projectiology, can be carried out in Earth orbit, just like the experiments conducted by the astronaut Edgard D.

Este libro propone una lectura de la novela Eugenia (1919), de Eduardo Urzaiz, desde una nueva perspectiva, situándola dentro de la discusión actual del poshumanismo, en su encadenamiento a las ciencias sociales, así como de la ética y la bioética. En este trabajo se considera a Eugenia como la obra que inauguró la novelística de ciencia ficción en México, así como la primera distopía en la literatura mexicana; a pesar de la relevancia de la novela, la obra se vio relegada del canon mexicano y latinoamericano. Aquí se le considera como una pieza de ficción especulativa, por lo que este estudio se centra en dos aspectos fundamentales: la construcción biológica e identitaria del sujeto del siglo XXIII como ser poshumano y en la imposibilidad de la utopía que la novela plantea, de manera que se pueda visualizar la conformación del individuo y su mundo en un futuro distante vis-à-vis el presente.

Abstract:
This book proposes a reading of the novel Eugenia (1919), written by Eduardo Urzaiz, from a new perspective, placing it within the current discussion of posthumanism, in its connection to the social sciences, as well as ethics and bioethics. In this work, Eugenia is considered the work that inaugurated science fiction novels in Mexico and the first dystopia in Mexican literature. Despite the book's relevance, the work was relegated from the Mexican and Latin American canon. The larger format, extended Introduction and new Addenda in this English edition aim to provide the reader, a multidimensional self-researcher and self-evaluator, the means to better understand the Conscientiogram, including how to apply it, determine marks, and perform more precise self-or heterodiagnostics. To achieve these objectives, we preserved what Dr. Vieira wrote on concepts related to conscientiometrology, the science of consciential measurement, and included some more recent, core verpons, or leading edge relative truths, from conscientiology, a postmaterialist science of consciousness. Conscientiometry Glossary-is based on the official bilingual Glossary of Essential Conscientiology Terms. It presents 272 conscientiological terms and short definitions of greater relevance to Conscientiometry. Addenda-were included to provide support for self-analysis. The List of 200 Weaktraits, 200 Strongtraits/Absentraits and 150 Attributes were authored by Luimara Schmit, Magali Ornellas, Djalma Fonseca and Jeffrey Lloyd, compiled from personal and classroom experiences as well as from research from the referenced sources and dictionaries, and 100 Consciential Profiles and Resomated Consreus were fully translated from the original, Dr. Vieira's Homo Sapiens Reubanisatus. Also, this book, as with almost all conscientiological books, contains a glossary, which the reader is encouraged to utilize to enjoy the process of learning new words and ideas. Human society has reached a critical crossroad in history. The global dynamic process that has driven the prosperity and freedoms embodied in Western civilization is grinding to a halt. The narrowing opportunities for humanity as population presses on technologically defined resources is generating protests, ugly competition, disputes, wars, and a loss of confidence in our political and social institutions. How the world reacts to this crisis over the next few decades will determine the fate of both Western civilization and the rest of the world. Prospects, however, are not bright. Not because the underlying dynamic mechanism of global change is malfunctioning, but because so-called "progressives"--who are really metaphysical interventionists--are attempting to reshape the world using pseudo-science, which is unable to realistically interpret the dynamics of human society. These radical interventionists are engaged in mythmaking rather than reality construction. If they have their way--and they are currently enjoying major successes--the world will experience the establishment of a global command system that will block the natural transition to a new and higher state of technological achievement. I call this outcome the "Dutch windmill syndrome". The outcome will be a massive reduction in material prosperity, the loss of individual liberty, and a huge loss of life. Essentially it will involve "the dying of the light". There is, however, a better way, which is outlined in this paper from the INSTITUTE OF GLOBAL DYNAMIC SYSTEMS (Canberra).
