Academic performance is the main concern of educators all over the world. Authentic researchers have studied the importance of handwriting for improving students' performance, and they have proved that using the hand in writing activates many regions in the brain that are related to memory and comprehension. The study aims at displaying the results of some substantial resources on handwriting to show this importance and its impact on students' academic performance. It also aims at being a loud call for the Ministry of Education, and the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research to make a remedial action through establishing awareness campaigns to show the importance and necessity of updating curriculum to focus on using handwriting to enhance and support the students' reception of information. In order to achieve the success of the mentioned efforts, the researcher refers to training the trainers and establishing writing units that are joined to the learning institutions.
Writing as one of language skill is often considered very difficult. It is due to the fact that writing needs to produce and organize ideas using appropriate vocabulary, language use, paragraph organization, and mechanism. It also needs to turn the ideas into a readable text and for foreign language learners; they should also transfer ideas from their native language into target language (foreign language). It raises any problems for them to create a good text. Moreover, the situation in the class does not always support them in which the techniques of the teacher in teaching writing are boring and monotonous; it do not give enough attention to help students explore their writing skills. So that they attend the writing class only for procedural formality. Thus, it is considered important to elaborate various techniques to build nice classroom atmosphere as well as to improve students' writing skills.

This is a preliminary posting of a bibliography on on-line character recognition (a.k.a. dynamic character recognition, a.k.a. pen computing) that I maintained through 1990/1991 while working in commercial development in pen computing. I am posting it on the WorldWide Web in case it is of interest to anyone still in, or starting in the field. This compilation is copyright Jean Renard Ward, 1996. Permission is hereby given to cite or link to this list without restriction, provided that notice of this copyright is given, that the URL of this link be included, and also that you use my correct full name "Jean Renard Ward" in any such reference or link-I've had to live a long time with this name, my parents picked it for me, and people getting it wrong is one of my pet peeves in life. I find the very early references to pen computing the most interesting: the earliest I have are two United States patents, in this list as [Goldberg14] and [Drew19]. Another interesting slant is all the claims of "near perfect" handwriting recognition algorithms in the earliest days of pen computing, such as [Simek67] and [Dimond57]. (And you believed Microsoft / Nestor / Apple / MicroPad / IBM / PenPoint / Rand Corporation / Linus / PenCept / CIC / Wacom / Slate / when they said that theyhad invented pen computing!) If you are currently in the pen-computing field technically, you might also find the early references to the "Viterbi" algorithm intersting. The informal annotations here were prepared while working on various papers: see [Ward88], for example. Thank you, 10

We designed a hand writing input system as a dictation tool to support hearing-impaired students in class. As numerous references to formulae and figures even during conversations in a mathematics class,a handwriting input system is very useful. As these tasks require promptness , we designed some special edit functions to input content using premade one. Moreover to adjust to individual usability, we designed a function to suggest improving the system parameters.
Different countries of the world have adopted the Braille System to suits their language. The main focus of the paper is the conversion of Tamil to Braille Conversion System. The paper provides a detail description of a system for Tamil Braille and different grades of Braille contraction. The Tamil Braille is designed to facilitate Tamil-speaking visually impaired people interaction with computers, as well as helping sighted users to communicate with the visually impaired person.

A man walked into a New England bank and shoved a. piece of paper under one of the teller's windows. The teller carefully examined the note, then kicked the alarm button. Within minutes police officers converged on the scene and arrested the man. They later discovered that the suspect was a respected businessman suffering from laryngitis and illegible handwriting. The note was a poorly written request for a new checkbook (O'Brien, 1959). The aftereffects of malformed print are usually not so bizarre. Nonetheless, within today's schools poor handwriting has aptly been dubbed an instructional time thief (Enstrom, 1967). Students with handwriting difficulties often lose considerable time completing assignments, and teachers forfeit precious time attempting to grade papers marred by illegible letters and words. Poor penmanship is a barrier to both expressive writing and spelling achievement (Strickling, 1973). Further, regardless of content, teachers assign higher scores to papers with handwriting of good quality (
