"This paper discusses the challenges involved in implementing a new method of AD in Barcelona‟s Gran Teatre del Liceu through a case study: Giordano‟s Andrea Chénier. It first describes the main features of opera AD and looks at some of the approaches taken in the UK and Catalonia. Then, it explains a new AD approach proposed by researchers from the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona. Finally, a general overview of the opera Andrea Chénier is offered discussing the most important challenges and restrictions posed by the genre and explaining how the AD script was drafted and delivered. "
