Nastavak istraživanja polučio je izvrsna otkrića kojima se de nitivno potvrđuje funerarni karakter tog prostora tijekom antike.Ovogodišnja probna iskopavanja usmjerena su i na prostor bliže istočnom bedemu grada, gdje su na svijetlo dana izašli tragovi monumentalne suhozidne arhitekture koja se preliminarno može povezati uz najraniju forti kacijsku fazu Farosa iz 4. st. pr. n. e. Terenske aktivnosti obuvatile su i istočni dio otoka gdje je proveden terenski pregled gradine Liković koja je kroz literaturu isticana kao potencijalno značajan lokalitet iz razdoblja mlađe prapovijesti i protopovijesti Archaeological excavations in the framework of the HRZZ AdriaCos project, continued in Stari Grad on Hvar island, more particularly in the area south of ancient Faros, where a grave with an iron sword-copis and a spear was discovered last year. This year’s research resulted in excellent discoveries that de nitively con rm the funerary character of that area during antiquity. Another probe focused also on the area closer to the eastern rampart of the city, where traces of so far unknown monumental dry-wall architecture of probable earlier rampart have come to light, which can be tentatively connected to the earliest forti cation phase of Pharos from the 4th century BCE. The eld activities also covered the eastern part of the island, where a eld survey of the Liković hillfort was conducted, which was highlighted in the literature as a potentially signi cant site from the period of younger prehistory and protohistory.
