These data were taken on a global sample of skulls from the Samuel George Morton Cranial Collection dated to the middle 19th century. We report craniofacial measurements from individuals belonging to 97 geographic and ethnic populations. We also report age, sex, craniofacial measurements, provenience, elevation and climatic information for each specimen. In addition to endocranial volumes, 23 linear measurements for each cranium are reported, as well as indices for several features (i.e., cranial, orbital, nasal). Age at death and the sex of each specimen are also reported. Climate data for each skull's place of origin comprise a suite of 13 surface variables taken between 1901-1990. These data may be useful in the study of brain size, sexual dimorphism, human variation, and human adaptation.
