This study examines the perception of the student ID process at Laguna State Polytechnic University (LSPU). With a focus on the increasing necessity for campus safety and the role of ID cards in verifying student identity, the research highlights the shift from traditional ID cards to badges for easier identification. Theoretical and conceptual frameworks underpinning the significance of perception in understanding the ID process are discussed, alongside implications for students and faculty, while also considering the benefits and limitations inherent in the existing ID systems.
On-campus violence and crime is a common theme in today’s news. Schools are faced with the threat of active shooters, drug dealers lurking on the grounds, sex offenders trolling events and parental abductors waiting for an opportunity to strike. Real threats are reported every day.
This paper explores the human-technology relations of student identification cards and lanyards. Using a number of heuristics to explore the issue from different perspectives, the history and future of student identification is presented along with a critique of the effectiveness of the school ID card and lanyard as objects of control.
