Student Behavior and Attendance Monitoring System

The main objective of developing this system is to present an automated way to keep track of attendance which would reduce the present pen and paper based manual method of marking attendance. Replacing the tedious old method this system will save time, reduce the amount of work the teachers has to do and will replace the stationery material with a computer based system. This system deals with the maintenance of the student's attendance details. It generates the attendance of the student on basis of presence in class. It is maintained on the daily basis of their attendance. The staffs will be provided with the separate username & password to make the student's presence. The staffs handling the particular subjects will be responsible to mark the attendance for all students. Only if the student present on that particular period, the attendance will be marked.

The end-of-course marks assigned by lecturers are anticipated to express the level of accomplishment of each student in the class. These marks are used to make a mass of decisions. Unless an adequately accurate and efficient method is used for the grading, the grades are appropriate to convey misinformation . In itself, the handing out of results is found to be rather tedious, especially when carried out manually, and when the total number of students is large. It is time-consuming and errorprone. However, the process carried out with a computer running a suitable software application becomes a lot easier and much more accurate. “Students Attendance Management System” is software developed for maintaining the attendance of the student on the daily basis in the collage. Here the staffs, who are handling the subjects, will be responsible to mark the attendance of the students. Each staff will be given with a separate username and password based on the subject they handle. An accurate report based on the student attendance is generated here. This system will also help in evaluating attendance eligibility criteria of a student. Report of the student’s attendance on weekly and monthly basis is generated.

Attendance Management is very important for every organization. Taking attendance of lot student is very time consuming process. It is difficult to analyze attendance of students how frequently one is skipping classes. And also there will be some proxy attendance of student in traditional system. The possible solution to this problem is to use an automatic attendance system which uses face recognition techniques. This system will mark attendance electronically and recorded attendance will be stored in a database. The preparation of a question paper for the Internal Assessment Exam can be automatically generated with the help of teachers according to RBT levels. The Internal Assessment is very important for students. This system will give individual student reports based on the performance of student in internal assessment, exactly in which type of RBT level the student need to improve themselves.

Attendance management is important to every single organization; it can decide whether or not an organization such as educational institutions, public or private sectors will be successful in the future. Organizations will have to keep a track of people within the organization such as employees and students to maximize their performance. Managing student attendance during lecture periods has become a difficult challenge. The ability to compute the attendance percentage becomes a major task as manual computation produces errors, and wastes a lot of time. For the stated reason, an efficient Web-based application for attendance management system is designed to track student's activity in the class. This application takes attendance electronically and the records of the attendance are storing in a database. The system design using the Model, View, and Controller (MVC) architecture, and implemented using the power of Laravel Framework. JavaScript is adding to the application to improve the use of the system. MySQL used for the Application Database. The system designed in a way that can differentiate the hours of theoretical and practical lessons since the rate of them is different for calculating the percentages of the students' absence. Insertions, deletions, and changes of data in the system can do straightforward via the designed GUI without interacting with the tables. Different presentation of information is obtainable from the system. The test case of the system exposed that the system is working enormously and is ready to use to manage to attend students for any department of the University.

— Over the years the manual attendance system has been carried across most of educational institutions. To overcome the problem of manual attendance, now we are using a web based attendance management system, which can be implemented on any computer. This system is being developed to maintain easy access of information from the database. The application makes use of MYSQL as back end and JAVA, HTML, CSS is used as front end. It tracks all the details of a student attendance from day one to end of the course. The conventional method of taking attendance by calling names or signing is very time consuming and insecure, hence inefficient and some of the reasons are not reported to the parents or guardians because the way of informing them is a traditional way and it takes a long process. The system is fully controlled by administrator about the staff's profile, student information student attendance. The administrator can add new student, add new staff, view staff and student and view the student attendance report. The faculties are able to directly access all aspects of the student's progress through a secure, online interface embedded in the college website. After the class has been finished, the lecturer can view the student's attendance that has been saved in the faculty server. This system will also help in evaluating attendance eligibility criteria of a student. The faculty can also send messages to parents or guardians about the student performance and attendance by short listing the students. Hence, here communication is made easier with parents and faculty. The messages can be sent through SMS to the mobile number given in details of the students in the file. The purpose of developing this software is to computerize the tradition way of taking attendance. Another purpose of software is to generate the report automatically at the end of the session. Moreover, graphical user interface is provided in the proposed system, which provides user to deal with system very easily. The scope of this project is the system on which the software is installed i.e. the project is developed as a desktop application, and it will work for a particular institute.
