The new paradigms created with the appearance of the Internet allowed the development of solutions of electronic commerce, based on the use of opened systems, not proprietors and of low cost. Adoption of this type of solutions by the SMTE (Small and Medium-sized Tourism Enterprises) allows the use of its advantages, for the redefinition of its business processes, in a global market that demands a constant adaptation. This work approaches the thematic related with the systems of electronic commerce developed to function on the Internet, mainly the electronic markets (e-Marketplaces), with particular emphasis in the SMTE.
