Ground water development has shown phenomenal progress in our country during the past three decades. There has been a vast improvement in the perception, outlook and significance of ground water resource. The objective of this paper is to present the status of developments in hydrological studies related to ground water hydrology including review of the basic concepts and associated methodologies.

In this paper we discuss ways to obtain information about the quality of ground water and their availability. We classify the different approaches in two categories: geophysical methods, e.g., electroresistivity sounding, seismic survey, gravimetry, MT (magnetotelluric) method, and geochemical methods. The former ones are able to provide information on the geological structure, meaning depth, range, amount of water and possible connections among different exploration areas or regions at risk due to contamination. On the other hand, the last ones provide information about the quality of water and the possible of use for agriculture, industry or human consumption. As a case study we aim at the Guarani Aquifer, more specifically at its recharge zone on the southern rim.

This is a series of contributions, expressing explicit opinions with regard to contemporary topics in limnology. These texts will be based mostly on new books with a large impact, but can also refer to other currently debated topics. Documented reactions to these contributions should be sent to the editor-in-chief; they will be considered for publication in subsequent issues.
Water balance techniques have been extensively used to make quantitative estimates of water resources and the impact of man's activities on the hydrologic cycle. On the basis of the water balance approach, it is possible to make a quantitative evaluation of water resources and its dynamic behaviour under the influence of man's activities. In this paper, an attempt has been made to describe the methodologies to understand and evaluate the various recharge and discharge components of ground water balance equation and to establish the recharge coefficient with a view to work out the ground water potential of an area.
The Globalization of World Politics An Introduction to International Relations Seventh Edition Edited by John Baylis, Steve Smith, and Patricia Owens A must have text for anybody and everybody interested in the ongoing Globalization of World Politics. Besides the fact that it has been the market-leading introduction to International Relations, written by more than 35 unrivaled experts in their fields.
