O presente trabalho propoe uma analise do romance L'Arte delle Gioia, de Goliarda Sapienza, com base em uma perspectiva de critica pos-colonial e feminista em dialogo com o quadro teorico das Epistemologias do Sul (SANTOS, 2014). No seu posicionamento duplamente periferico – no Sul geografico (Meridione) e no Sul Epistemico (mulher) –, o personagem Modesta, e com ela a autora Goliarda, mostra um percurso possivel de reconciliacao com as nossas identidades complexas, de descolonizacao dos nossos destinos.

The theory of Representative Bureaucracy is a well-studied concept in Public Administration, positing that more representative government agencies will lead to greater equity for underserved groups. This paper is review of empirical applications of the theory to the use of force by police and it will show that the work does not support the idea that more representative police departments correlate with lower rates of use of force against minority groups. Implications for future studies are addressed at the end of the article.

The observed uneconomic production performance in many shale gas horizontal wells suggests refracturing as a restimulation treatment to revive economic gas production. To achieve high-performance re-stimulation, it is critical to select the right well among many other wells in the area and determine the proper time of refracturing. Well selection is challenging in shale gas horizontal wells because of the complexity of natural and induced fracture networks and in many cases due to insufficient reservoir and completion data. Selection of the candidate well and the time of refracturing can be made based on a thorough numerical simulation study developed by precise modeling of hydraulic fractures and refracturing process. Accurate modeling can only be accomplished by considering formation of fracture networks. Induced fracture networks are formed by an altered stress-field as a consequence of the fracturing process and are evidenced by micro-seismic hydraulic fracture monitoring techniques. Tavassoli et al. (2013) modeled gas production of a refractured well in the Barnett formation and validated their simulation methodology with the available field data. The validated model was used to predict gas production after refracturing the well. They then performed systematic sensitivity analyses to specify the characteristics of shale gas horizontal well suitable for refracturing and defined well screening criteria and optimal time of refracturing. In this study we extend their original work to study 188 horizontal wells in Barnett (Johnson County) to identify wells with potentials for refracturing. We found that among these 188 wells only 11 wells are suitable for refracturing and the best time to perform hydraulic fracturing is between 3½ to 5½ years after initial production.

Kajian ini bertujuan untuk menggali pemahaman mengenai konflik suami istri perspektif Al Qur'an. Penelitian ini difokuskan pada ayat Al Qur'an dengan tema nusyuz dan syiqaq, sebagai bentuk konflik rumah tangga dalam Al Quran. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian kepustakaan dengan menggunakan metode kualitatif. Penelitian ini menggunakan data primer beberapa ayat Al Qur'an data sekunder berupa kitab-kitab tafsir. Teknik analisis data dalam penelitian ini adalah teknik analisis isi (content analysis). Dari penelitian ini dihasilkan, bahwa di antara konflik suami istri perspektif Al Qur'an, yaitu Nusyuz dan Syiqaq. Konflik yang bersumber dari istri penyelesaiannya sesuai dengan kandungan ayat Al Qur'an surah An Nisa ayat 34. Konflik yang bersumber dari keduanya (suami istri) penanganannya sebagaimana yang dijelaskan dalam Al Qur'an surah An Nisa ayat 35. Konflik yang bersumber dari suami jalan keluarnya sebagaimana disebut dalam Al Qur'an surah An Nisa ayat 128.

Among many disruptive events in the 2020 U.S. Presidential Election, the meta-conspiracy theory known as QAnon surged, intertwining politics and (quasi-)religious belief in ways that have yet to be fully understood. This article explores the power of deep memetic frames-namely, how we ideologically see the world and communicate that worldview-as a means used by certain individuals and amplified by politicians, including President Trump, to mobilize the voting public across party lines. It also reveals how representations of QAnon by the mainstream media played into the movement's success. For QAnon followers, the election became a crossroads moment, a "Great Awakening" whereby one could identify as part of a collective insider movement. Examining the epistemological de/construction of truth in a media context and diverging hermeneutical approaches-faith and suspicion, respectively-the article argues for the importance of religion as a lens to better understand QAnon in a deeply polarized United States.
