John Coakley

I am Lecturer in early American history at Merrimack College in Massachusetts, where I teach all aspects of the Atlantic World and the early United States. My research is in maritime piracy and its connection to politics in seventeenth-century English Jamaica. I have a Ph.D. in History from the University of Wisconsin-Madison.
