The Fuzzy logic controller is adaptive in nature to operate in closed loop environment without any mathematical model. The reduced number of switches combination in multi-level inverter system reduces the considerable amount of switching losses in the system. The present topology having ten switches and six diodes to generate nine levels of AC output voltage. The Phase Disposition (PD) Pulse Width Modulation (PWM) technique used for generating triggering pulses to the switches in the Inverter. the RMS voltage compared with the reference value to generate error. Mamdani type Fuzzy Logic Controller (FLC) is used for control operation according to the error value. This control topology has the provision to operate in a wide range of reference voltages (either fixed or variable). The FLC has input variable as error in voltage and output variable as amplitude of reference sine wave. The rul...

For these kind applications preferably we choose multilevel inverters. The multilevel inverters are used to convert DC input power to AC output power with more number of voltage levels and with less Total Harmonic Distortion (THD). In this paper, we evolved a new technique, soft switching for unique power converter called stacked multicell converter (SMC). The fuzzy logic controller used to controls the multi levels of operation for Stacked Multicell Converter. As compared to the conventional converter, This SMC topology provides more input voltage levels, reduces the converter energy storage, and also reduces the voltage and current burden on semiconductor switching devices. This paper presents the analysis and simulation results for fuzzy logic controlled multilevel inverter of circuit topologies for open and closed loop operations.

The liquid based PV/t collectors are practically more desirable and effective than air based system. Temperature fluctuation is more in air based PV/T collectors compared to liquid based PV/T collectors. This system has 11% better efficiency than the air based system This paper gives a brief overview of the liquid type PV/T technology, their efficiency, applications, advantages, limitations and research opportunities available.

The amount of thermal energy available at the PV backside is the source for all thermal extraction/utilizing schemes. But, till now, there is no accurate theoretical method to find the module temperature by any mathematical equation to be adaptable for all the conditions. In this work, we introduced the soft computing based estimation using Adaptive Neural Fuzzy Inference Systems (ANFIS) tool in MATLAB to estimate the module temperature of PV with respect to change of irradiance, ambient temperature, and wind velocity.

Many research has been done on the diagnosis and detection of breast cancer using various image processing and classification techniques. Nonetheless, the disease remains as one of the deadliest disease. Having conceive one out of six women in her lifetime. Since the cause of breast cancer stays obscure, prevention becomes impossible. Thus, early detection of tumour in breast is the only way to cure breast cancer. Using CAD (Computer Aided Diagnosis) on mammographic image is the most efficient and easiest way to diagnosis for breast cancer. Accurate discovery can effectively reduce the mortality rate brought about by using mamma cancer. Masses and microcalcifications clusters are an important early symptoms of possible breast cancers. They can help predict breast cancer at it's infant state. The image for this work is being used from the DDSM Database (Digital Database for Screening Mammography) which contains approximately 3000 cases and is being used worldwide for cancer research. This paper quantitatively depicts the analysis methods used for texture features for detection of cancer. These texture featuresare extracted from the ROI of the mammogram to characterize the microcalcifications into harmless, ordinary or threatening. These features are further decreased using Principle Component Analysis(PCA) for better identification of Masses. These features are further compared and passed through Back Propagation algorithm (Neural Network) for better understanding of the cancer pattern in the mammography image.

The PV temperature can be lowered by heat extraction with a proper natural or forced fluid circulation. An interesting alternative to plain PV modules is to use Hybrid Photovoltaic/Thermal (PV/T) systems, which consist of PV modules coupled to heat extraction devices, providing electricity and heat simultaneously. Hybrid PV/T systems are of higher cost than standard PV modules because of the addition of the thermal unit and therefore a cost/benefit analysis is needed to find out the limits of practical use of these. A couple of typical applications are selected in order to assess the benefits for the users of hybrid PV/T systems comparing the payback time with PV systems and Solar thermal ones, under the current support schemes and conditions in Greece. A spreadsheet was developed that calculates on an hourly basis the annual energy output of the different systems. Furthermore, the energy output and the estimated system costs per surface area are introduced in an economic analysis spreadsheet, where the payback time for each system is calculated.

The solar PV cells available have low efficiency in the order of 15-20%. The extraction efficiency depends on solar insolation, cell temperature, angle of incidence and the load current. These factors resulting a non linear V-I characteristics for a PV cell. A Perturb & Observation MPPT is developed to operate the PV cell at a reference voltage corresponding to maximum power point in the characteristic curve. This algorithm is incorporated to improve the performance and thereby increasing the efficiency of PV cell. A 225W solar PV module at different cell temperatures and solar insolation is simulated in MATLAB environment. The simulated results shows the deviation of output power of solar module at maximum power point with ideal PV power is about 12% for different cell temperature and solar insolation.
